Honey (Book 1)

Chapter 3

 "Hey! New girl!" a deeps voice shouted after me, attracting unwanted looks from everyone. 

I turn and see Emmett. "Uhm, Hey." I mumble awkwardly as he stands in front of me with a big grin. I didn't anticipate how tall he'd be so I took a slight step back as he towered above me. A deep rumbling laugh came from as he noticed.

"What class do you have next?" He said and I briefly wondered if he was naturally this loud. 

"Biology." 

"Oh. You have that with one of my brothers, he isn't here today though. Let me walk you." Emmett didn't even give me a chance to respond and just grabbed my schedule from my hand and led the way, I had to jog to catch up. "So how're you liking it here Bells?" 

I look up at him confused. "Its f-," He doesn't let me finish. "Hey, you know what? You should hang out with my family and I tonight. "  We come to a stop in front of my class. 

"Uhm, what?" I don't even know this kid. 

"Yeah. Rose would love you, she needs another girl besides Alice to hang out with. Alice would love to also- actually she's the one who sent me to talk to you, she had to go do something instead or she would have. Besides why not? I'm assuming you don't have any friends yet since you just moved here and all. You seem like a blast. Anyhoo I'll pick you up after school at the chiefs house around 4. Bye!" He spoke so fast I could barely keep up. Before I could tell him no thanks, he was gone. 

What the actual fuck just happened?

 I stood befuddled by the door of my class as students walked passed and into the room. I guess.. I guess I have plans after school then. Which, he was kinda creepy.

"Yo, Arizona. This is Eric, he usually greets all new students but he came in late today." Mike found me and brought a black haired kid with him. 

"Isabella, right?" he asked.

"Yeah." I respond and walk into class but stop. "And uhm, I'd appreciate if you'd use my name, not the state that I came from." Both nod, sharing a look.

Behind me I heard them muttering to one another as I hand the teacher the slip. Like before, I was seated with a partner but he wasn't here so I assumed it was a Cullen since all the other seats were full and Emmett mentioned a brother in this class.

The day was boring and luckily I didn't have to do anything in gym until tomorrow. 

As I walked to my truck, I looked around and saw the group I sat with at lunch, laughing and talking by a van one of them must drive- seeing them I quickly passed that area to avoid conversation and kept looking. Awkwardly, I caught eye contact with Alice and Emmett and they both waved.

With a sigh, I debate whether or not to go over there and tell him not to come over. That I don't know them and it's weird that he just came up to me like that but before I could do anything they get in their car and speed away. 

I frown but jump in my car and pretend I didn't just hear Jessica call my name.

Emmett's POV

Alice and I were the only ones at school today since we had Jasper take Edward hunting with Rose. We made Jasper do it since Edward is supposed to have a hard time around Bella's blood and Jasper would be affected by Edwards blood lust. Rosalie was sent off with them to delay the inevitable.

Bella is going to be an important part of the family soon so Alice wants me to invite her over tonight. 

"Wouldn't it be weird for her to just come over on her first day of school since she doesn't know us?" I ask Alice confused.

"No, Em. We're going to be her friends first." Alice spoke competitively like it was a competition who got to her first- the humans or us. She crossed her arms as she listened to Bella's table. Some girl was whispering rude comments about Bella. Alice suddenly goes blank for a moment before she's back from her vision with a huge smile on her face. 

Clapping happily, Alice squeals. "Tonight is going to be so much fun."  Laughing with her, I feel eyes on me. Bella is looking at us as her friends 'explain the Cullen's'. Both Alice and I wave. 

"I can't wait for another sister to mess with." I mumble as it's my time to go talk to her.

Finally in the car with Alice, driving to Bella's, I  can't help to get excited. We don't get to talk to many others outside of the family for obvious reasons, so you better believe I'm going to make the most of this. When we got home after school to drop off our things, Esme was home so Alice let her know what we were doing but the others still don't. If Edward was to come back we let her know, to let him in on the situation. Though, with Edward's gift he probably already knows. 

"This is going to go great. Our family needs her." Alice says, almost to herself.

"When does she learn our secret?" I look over nervously.

"I'm not quite sure but she's a smart girl. She'll suspect us of something by the end of the night." 

"This will be a good thing, right?" From what Alice has been seeing for the past two months, I've already come to think of her as a sister. The only thing is the family doesn't yet since we kept Bella quite between the two of us. Edward has his suspicions and Carlisle knows enough of whats going on to except her but that's it.  

"Of course!" she looked at me with a scowl before it was almost instantly a bubbly smile. "Now hush, we're here." she jumped out of the car and sprang to the door as I waited in the car.

I saw Alice knock on the door and hug Bella immediately once she came out. From Bella's expression Alice was talking way to fast for her to understand which made me laugh.  "What's up Bells? You excited?" I wiggled my eyebrows at her through the rear-view mirror as she got in the back. 

She gave me weak smile. From there Alice and I started talking and joking to her as I sped down the rode.

As we got closer to the house, Bella seemed to be a little more talkative. She seemed like she wanted to say something but never did. 

When we pull onto the path to the house, Bella's heart sped up and when I put the car in park in front of the house, she gulped almost silently. 

As Alice and I got quickly out of the car, Bella was taking a deep breath so I opened the door for her.  Bells mumbled a wow as she took at the three story house. I laughed and ruffled her hair. "I'll see you soon Bells. Gotta go do something." I let her know before taking off into the house.
