I did wind up getting sick, but it was barely more than a sniffle. Barely sick really. Really, it was stupid to mess around in the river like that, there's still snow lying around. Still, no big deal.
By the time Rosalie picked me up on Monday I had a small cough and sniffle. For some reason she fretted over it the whole ride to school, Emmett in the back teasing her with how this cold would probably kill me. Mostly, I just giggled about it the whole way.
The warm fuzzy feeling around her intense and filtering into my system like sunshine.
Even worried, Rose was gorgeous. Her eyes were alit with emotion, bright as can be in their swirling honey shade. Her hair perfectly sculpted, of course, and parted down the middle with a small part of her locks braided into a crown around the back of her head.
The strand that escaped and moved with her every blink had my hand twitching to sweep it back.
When we got out of the car, I hardly heard anything after the initial greetings from the rest of the Cullens. Rosalie looks pretty amazing today.
Breath caught in my throat, I can't help but feel a tad creepy when my eyes get caught on the way her jeans hug her subtle curves. The way her tight pastel purple shirt is particularly low cut. But as my eyes once again trail up to her face, I forget how to breath.
Its seemingly impossible for someone to be so beautiful. Her eyes meet mine, the conversation still flowing but it feels like it's just us with the way she smiles at me. Her full attention on me, Emmett's arm around her slender waist.
Her lips, plump and so pink. Unconsciously, I take a step forward and then it's like the spell is broken. The school bell shattering the moment and making me jump.
The others, if they noticed, they don't show it outright as I quickly scan around. However, Jasper and Emmett are sharing a laugh.
My eyes go across the parking lot and I mentally scold myself for getting so caught up in Rose.
Blinking hard, I turn back to her and come face to face with her. Or well, as much as I can since she towers over me.
Her perfume- no that doesn't seem right, it has to be her natural scent- either way it consumes me. Sweet and intoxicating as ever, as she lightly grabs my elbow.
"Let's get to class." She says, voice soft. Emmett, of course, is with us. "Yeah! Come on, Bellsy. We're gonna be late!" He says.
"See you, Bells!" Alice shouts.
"See you guys at lunch!" I shout, laughing as Emmett tugs me along. "Slow down, you oaf."
Rosalie's laughter fills my ears and once again, it's like she takes up all of my attention. No matter what it is, the smallest things capture my complete attention without even meaning to. She's like a siren or something. It's actually kind of embarrassing.
"Well, you're awfully distracted this morning so I wanted to make sure we wouldn't get sidetracked." He says but does slow down. My cheeks turn bright red and it makes him roar with laughter. Rosalie has an adorable grin on her lips when I risk a glance.
I shake my head to try to compose myself and knock it off. Laughing at myself, I shrug from Emmett's grasp.
"Don't listen to him," Rose says. My body tingles as I refuse to look at her and its like a physical force is trying to get me to just. Look.
"I think I need to go to the bathroom. Be right back." I laugh, ducking Emmett's arm and dodging students.
