Honey (Book 1)

Chapter 9

  When we got back to her house, my head was a lot clearer. Rose and I talked a little on the way here and it made it a little easier to be comfortable. She held my hand until we got out of the car. She got out first and waited for me at the front.

Upon entering, we heard shouting and Rosalie's smile disappeared. That made me really angry.

I frown alongside her as we enter the living room. My good mood disappearing at Rose's upset expression. 

Edward, Emmett, and Alice were shouting. Jasper was just as angry but I guess he wasn't the yelling type. Carlisle and Esme were upset as they tried to diffuse the situation.

When we entered, Edward got louder.

"So she is here! Rosalie was able to contain herself and now we get to wait a little while longer before something happens and we have to run! This is irresponsible and dangerous! I will not stay here while you guys adopt a pet!" He was yelling, I was surprised he wasn't red in the face.

His comments confused me but made everyone else angry.

Rosalie took a step forward, her lips curled back over her teeth. She was so frightening and so gorgeous. 

"Shut up Edward! Shut the hell up!" Alice shouted and Esme, Emmett and I were shocked to hear that from her.

"You don't know shit, Edward. You don't shit! Get the fuck off your high horse before you say something else that I'll make you regret." Emmett threatened and he was also terrifying.

"She's just going to be killed. Why not I do the honors now and get it over with, huh?" Edward's voice wasn't as loud but was still forceful.

There were four growls in the room and I jumped.

What the hell?

Jasper kept shooting me worried looks but stayed with his arm around Alice's waist. Carlisle was struggling to be heard and everyone else was yelling besides Esme and Rose.

"I swear, Edward. You even look in her direction and I will tear you apart." It was Rosalie's threat, so deadly cool, that quieted everyone because it wasn't a threat. It's a promise.

Edward was about to respond, an angry frown settling deeper on his face however Carlisle spoke first. "Enough of this. No one is going to get hurt, first of all. Second of all, I think this discussion should be held in private."

I didn't understand what they were talking about and I didn't know how it could be about me but it still sounded like it was. I was confused and very angry. My anger was only for Edward, so I couldn't stop glaring at him as I was now slightly in front of Rose.

After Carlisle spoke everyone was quiet. Rose and Edward were glaring so hard at each other that I, for some reason, stepped a little more in front of Rose. And I think everyone noticed. I could feel literally all of their eyes on me as I glared at Edward.

He looked at me angrily and slightly shocked. 

I just didn't like him upsetting Rosalie.

"Edward, I think you should come with Esme and I." Carlisle said but it was more of an order than suggestion. I didn't stop glaring until the door was shut behind the three of them, after they left.

I looked over.

Emmett, Alice and Jasper were standing around the room, varying expressions of anger, disappointment and shock. 

Turning around, I looked at her.

Her once golden eyes were a dark brown, almost black with anger. As she looked at me, her face lighten to small smile and I returned it with half of my own.
