N I A L L
I felt so much for Mary. Even though her mother kept saying that she wasn’t just leaving her to fend for herself, she kind of was. It’s ridiculous how she just left Mary without even lending her a few bucks to even get by for the week. I half smiled, thinking this was a good thing for me, because Mary would be around longer and Tony was starting too really like her being around. Because he’s never really had a caring, girl figure around. I mean our mom died when he was only a few weeks old, and I’m surprised he has only asked about her once.
“Come on Tony.” I got him on my back, walking into the bedroom where most of our things were. I had taken it upon myself to go and pick up some of our things while my dad was away at work throughout the week. That was a bit difficult because Mary was always worried he would come back and catch us, and she would be loud ‘bout it too.
“Where we going big brother?” I plopped him down on the bed as I took a bag from Harry’s closet. Where I had tossed all mine and Tony’s duffle bags a few days ago. Thinking that maybe we wouldn’t need them too soon, granted I wasn’t totally tune to the whole running away with Mary thing.
“We’re runnin’ away.” I smiled, shoving some of his clothes into the bag with mine.
“Is Mary coming with?” he smiled, sitting on his hands as he anticipated the yes to fall off my lips.
I nodded, giving him a quick wink, “Course.” I smiled.
“Hey—Ni do you think we could go to my place, get a few things?”
I furrowed my brow, knowing that was a bad idea and I didn’t understand why it was even being suggested at this point. I huffed out a laugh, shaking my head. “Sorry princess, but no.”
“W- Anthony could you give us a second?” he frowned slightly, nodding as he slid of the bed and took a few steps to get out of the room. She closed the door before crossing her arms over her chest. “So, you can have all of your stuff, yet we can’t go get a few of my things? Niall your dad is just the same as mine.”
“Mary, you aren’t getting it here.” I murmured, “I can handle my dad, because he won’t dare to touch me after what I did when I left with Anthony that night.” I paused, looking over at her as she sat on the bed, fidgeting with her cuticles, “If your dad so much as looked at you wrong I’d probably punch the guy out. Mary, I hate him.” I chuckled, before grabbing a few of my clean white t’s and tossing them in the bag as well. “I just don’t want him to know you’re still in town, that’s all.”
“You can’t go back? I could stay here-“
“Mary, I said no. It’s not because I don’t want to, I just don’t want you getting hurt, alright?” I felt around my pockets, and looked around the room for anything I could be forgetting to grab. “If we need to, I can take you shopping I have a shit ton saved up from my shifts at the diner.” I added, “Besides, you look good in my t shirt and jeans.”
“Niall, I don’t think you get it, either. Using your things just makes me feel like I’m invading on your space, and that I have nothing to even call my own.” She muttered softly.
