I looked at the bridal book one last time before finally getting up from the couch and getting the door after someone rapidly kept knocking on it. When I swung open that door I certainly wasn’t expecting this man to be standing there. His dark brown hair, and brown eyes were something I could never forget.
“Mary who’s here?” I quickly looked down the hallway at Tony who had begun to leave his room.
“Nobody important. Just go back to your room.” I quickly sputtered, watching him disappear into the threshold of his bedroom and closing the door again.
I looked back at the man standing in the doorway of my house, mine and Niall’s home. I crossed my arms, furrowing my eyebrows in frustration. “What are you doing here?” I questioned, “Wait how did you even find me?”
He shrugged, “You act like you can’t be found.” He chuckled, “Heard about your father.” He stated, pushing past me and made himself comfortable on my couch. Propping his feet up on the coffee table.
“I didn’t say you could come in.” I grumbled, slamming the door.
“You should know by now that I don’t care.” He smiled darkly, staring at me before he looked around at his surroundings, smirking again as soon as he saw the bridal book on the table near his feet.
“Niall isn’t going to like that you’re here.”
He huffed, shaking his head before he looked out the window to see Niall pulling into the driveway, almost like it was on cue. “I don’t care what that greaser has to think.”
I looked out the window to see Niall jogging up to the front door, pushing it open with a smile, “Mary who’s car is in the—,” his eyes landed on Dale, and his hands balled into fists before he dropped his coat in place by the door. “What the hell is he doing here?”
“I’m here to visit you, greaser.” He had cocky written all over his tone of voice, “I heard you Mary moved in together.” He grumbled, “Had to come and see if I could offer her something better, that’s all.”
“I doubt you could.” Niall retorted, swiftly taking two large strides towards me, his arm snaking around my waist all while his eyes stayed focused on Dale.
“Did you think that little deal a year ago was going to work forever?” I looked between Dale and Niall, and I could tell Niall was trying hard not to resort to violence to solve the problem.
“It’s gonna have to last, since we are getting married.” Niall spat, putting his free hand on his hip firmly. “We’ve been planning it for what?” he glanced over at me, “Few weeks now, Mary?” I nodded, thinking back to the night that we decided to get married. I smiled at the memory. I had already found a church and the place to hold the dinner at all within six months, and sent out most of the invitations to our friends and the rest of the family that hasn’t disappeared on us.
“You’re gonna marry this… trash, Mary?”
I heard Niall laugh, and before I could blink Dale was stumbling backwards from a hit to the jaw. Dale’s had rested on the soon to bruise impacted surface. “That’s all you got?”
“I swear to god Niall if you hit him again.”
“What, what will you do Mary?” He shot back, “You gonna leave me?”
“No, but—,”
“Then nothing is stopping me from hitting this ass again.” He cut in, looking back in Dale’s direction. I shook my head, quickly running off to go get Tony.
