Turn the corner and take a deep breath out. I lean my shoulder on the white wall and look out the window.
Why is this so difficult! You have to snap out of this mind fog and get back to work. Mom wouldn't have wanted me slacking. Just focus on work and you will be fine.
I take another deep breath and lift myself off the wall. I then make my way to the lab. After I get the blood to the lab, I start to make my way back to the bay. I open the doors and is greeted by the loud and deep yell of Dr. Watson.
"Williams! Where have you been? Delivering blood to labs shouldn't take that long"
I make my way over to the patient that the other interns and Watson are working.
"Sorry, I, um, got lost." I walk up to the patient and stand next to Ashley, "It won't let it happen again"
"It better not." He then walks away. Ashley nudges me slightly and I look over to her.
"Well, you are a terrible liar." Ashley whispers, "Remind me to never ask you to lie for me."
I laugh and start to take the blood pressure of the patient.
"But delivering labs wouldn't take that long," she leans in close to my ear, "what did you do that took so long?"
"I'll tell you later. Let's just focus on the patient."
"Yeah, you better." she leans back and smirks, "And be glad Dr. Cranky didn't catch you?"
I turn to look at her, "Dr. Cranky?"
"I know I need a better name for the sad, angry man."
My face turns and I look back the the patient. I start taking off the cuff and I smirk, "Yes you do."
"Williams! Martin!" Watson's booming voice fills my ears, "less talking, more working! Understand?"
"Yes sir" "We apologize, sir," we say.
"Good," he claps his hands together, "let's go" he then walks away.
Me, Ashley, and the other interns then follow Watson around for the rest of the day, gazing in his, for lack of a better term, amazingness. Wow is the only word I have to say when watching his surgical skills. He may be harsh, but he has skills.
Around 10:30 PM, Watson finally gives us a 10-ish minute break for food, and the other interns and I go to the cafeteria. In the past hours, I have met and talked with all the interns with Watson, and I have mixed opinions on all of them.
Ryan McGee. What can I say about the glorious Ryan? Well, for starters, he is a total ass and walks around like he owns the place. God, just looking at his pretty face and smirk makes me want to punch him and stuff his face up his ass. I am very surprised I haven't done any of that yet. Let me remind you this is our first day. We will see how long my sanity lasts with him.
Tyler Miller. He is a little dorky, but not in a "plays video games ever second he has free and owns all the memorabilia for Star Wars " way. Seems innocent enough, with his thick rimmed glasses and short, clean-cut Afro. He is a little quiet, which won't help him in this program, but it's every man/woman for their self, right?
Abigail Douglas. She is a petite little lady and is very, very energetic. She seems nice enough. I am though kind of scared that she already knows most of the gossip at the hospital and it hasn't even been a day yet. I think she would be great as a groupie or a sorority sister.
