Ahhh we reached 5k reads!  I would like to thank everyone who made this milestone possible for me and this book.  You are all so amazing and I love you all so much!  Heck, maybe we will even reach a 500,000 in the future! (But that is pretty crazy to think)

Hope you enjoy this chapter and please remember to tell your friends if you enjoy this book :)

After rounds and having my adrenaline pumping for over an hour, we are greeted with the waiting. Dr. Watson was going to decide what case everyone got. In the mean time, we just wait.

And it is fucking terrible.

I thought that rounds were stressful, but this might be worse.  The only thing you can do is twiddle your thumbs on mindless work and think about everything you could have done better.

To try to distract ourselves, me and the rest of Dr. Watson's "followers" (for lack of a better term) grab fuel in the cafeteria. I watch as everyone sits down at out usual table and begins to eat.

"That. Was. Horrible," Abigail wines as she stuffs a sandwich into her face.

Abigail is usually pretty annoying and over exaggerates everything, but today I could only agree more.

Ryan, who has his face flat on the table, almost inaudibly mumbles, "This might be the first time I have ever agreed with you more. And you talk a lot." Abigail, with cheeks full with food, slaps his shoulder, causing him to groan dramatically.

Ignoring this Abigail and Ryan, Tyler asks, "So what surgeries do you guys want."

"I want the lumbar spinal fusion with that 20-something woman," Abigail exclaims, her mouth still full of food.

"You just want to work with Dr. Henderson," Noah states, matter-of-factly. Without even trying to deny it, Abigail's cheeks turn a crimson red and, like a puppy that got in trouble, stays silent. I roll my eyes and grip my granola bar harder.  Logan wasn't even there in rounds with the patient, but even the chance at working with him made her go boy-crazy over him.

I know it shouldn't, but when Abigail drools over Logan, I can help but feel a slight ball of anger fume at the pit of my stomach. I ignore the feeling and it fizzles away quickly, but it always happens.

Every. Single. Damn. Time.

Noah continues, explaining the neuro surgery at hand that he wants, his eyes gleaming as he speaks.

It was already obvious Noah was going to get the surgery, none the less also become a neurosurgeon. He was already excelling greatly in it and, by the way he talks about it, loves it.

Once he's finished, Tyler explains the general surgery he was interested in and turns to me.

"What about you, V?" he asks me.

"I want-," I pause, dumbfounded on what to say next. What did I even want? All of the surgeries were all interesting in their own ways, but none of them jumped off the page for me. I was so excited to shine through these surgeries, and I did great with rounds, raising my hand for almost every question and trying my best to give an informative response, but none really spoke to me.
