Connor's POV

"Well mom, I guess we better get going." I told my mom as Bethany and I got ready to walk out the door of my childhood house. Before I could go any further, I felt my mom's arms wrap around me tightly. I wrapped her up, and hugged back. My dad came and joined the family hug. Then came Jenna, Brandon, and Lucas. Bethany stood off to the side laughing at us as we all fell onto the couch.

Bethany never got to meet my dad. It was a quick 'hello' and then a 'goodbye'. He never was around for much of my childhood. He was always out with his friends drinking. He still lived with us and would care for us. He would tell us he loved us and give us all a kiss in the morning and once at night, but he never go home until after midnight, so he would have to sneak a kiss while we were all still sleeping. Bethany didn't know that though, she just thought that he had to go to work and couldn't visit much. He was probably just leaving to go get fucking wasted again.

I pulled myself up from the couch and walked myself over to Bethany, and stared at my crazy family. I don't know why my dad never stuck around to see us grow up very much, but he didn't, and that's the past. It's his own damn problem he got to miss his kids grow up. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Bethany.

"Connor, is there something wrong? You seem.. angry?" She asks. There's no damn way I'm telling her here. I'll tell her later.

"It's nothing really." I say.

She just nods, and walks over to give my mom and Jenna one last hug. They all wrap up in a friendly hug, and I end up calling Bethany over and telling her we have to go if we want to catch the flight.

"So, how did you like Minnesota?" I ask Bethany.

"Oh my gosh! I wish I could stay here for longer. I would love to see it in the winter." She responds to me. I chuckle at her comment, because she doesn't know Minnesota weather.

"Oh no you wouldn't! It gets into the negatives here!" I say laughing.

"Negatives? Jeez! That's freezing!" She says.

I laugh again and nod.

We walk over to the chairs where you wait for your plane to be ready for you to board. I wrap my arm around Bethany's waist and pull her in closer. She smiles, and I smile back down at her. Damn, I'm so glad she's mine.

We sit down, and Beth rests her head on my shoulder. I kiss her on the forehead a whisper in her ear.

"I love you." I say.

"I love you." She says back.

"Connor?" She asks me.

"Yeah?" I say.

"Why were you angry earlier?"

"It's just.. My dad never was around when I was a kid. He was always out getting drunk and fucking girls left and right. God know why my mom kept him around. So when he came over and acted like we were always a big happy family, it made me damn mad."

"Oh, Connor. I'm sorry for asking. I-I shouldn't have barged into your business."

"No, Bethany. Your my girlfriend and you deserve to know and I don't fucking know why I never told you."

"It's okay Connor. I love you so much."

"I love you more than you'll ever know Bethany."

I wrapped my arm around her as we sat on the two chairs, waiting for our plane to arrive. I kissed her on the forehead and swayed my upper body back and forth. She loves it when I do that.
