THE REALIZATION KEPT MY EYES OPEN the whole night. Limiting my interaction with Andrei while I sort these feelings out is the first thing that came to my mind, but when I accepted Andrei's unplanned invitation to see a movie the next day, I knew I was in deep trouble.

When I asked him why the sudden movie plan, he grinned and said it was an "extension" of yesterday's celebration. And the expenses are all on him!

Nagpalusot ulit ako kay Mama na nagka-emergency meeting yung group namin for the presentation tomorrow and it was urgent so I had to go immediately.

"Andrei?"

We turned at the familiar voice. Annette's eyes dragged down on me and her lips parted.

"A-aubri," nahihirapan niyang sabi. "Kayo lang dalawa?"

"No," I reacted quickly. "We just ran into each other. I was with Vicky but she went into the cr."

Nagpaalam na rin agad si Annette. It was a strange interaction. Her eyes had darted back to me more than once, like she wants to make sure it was really me who she saw and talked to.

"You don't have to post a photo with me in it," I said. I know it was a stolen picture of me and was probably seconds away from posting it.

Andrei has always been active on socials which is why he's so easily found by his admirers.

"Bakit, may mali ba? K-kaibigan naman kita ah."

"Your girls would think otherwise."

"Tori, tatlo lang yung babae sa buhay ko. Si Mama. Si Ate. Ikaw."

Binato ko sa kaniya ang isang popcorn. "Landi mo."

It was so corny and I knew he didn't mean it yet it sent my pulse racing. See? I'm the problem. He's always been like this—a little flirty and clingy. It's me who overreactsas if I've never heard him joke before.

My conscience warns me, saying that whatever these feelings I have for Andrei will do me no good. I've acknowledged he's just a friend, so I shouldn't entertain these unusual emotions when he behaves differently.

And like I said, I will choose to be his friend and won't ask for more. Surely, my feelings will fade away over time if I just continue ignoring them. Tsaka mga bata pa kami. I'll figure this out.

"May quiz ba ngayon?"

Naputol ako sa pag-iisip dahil sa biglaang paglitaw ni Sabrina na sinasabayan na ako sa paglalakad sa hallway.

"I don't think so," I hesitated. What if I forgot because Andrei completely took over my mind?

"Ah." She nodded. "Nagsasalita ka mag-isa so I assumed you're recalling some lessons."

She seemed unusual today. Her aura was lighter, less intimidating, and less blinding. Or maybe it was just the lack of sleep kaya kung anu-ano na ang nakikita ko.

"How was the party?" Agad kong naitikom ang bibig mula sa pagkakahikab. She showed me Andrei's post on facebook with the caption "one of the best days with the best people".

"What's it for? And why didn't I know this?"

"It's not a party. Just a small celebration," I corrected to defend myself from her judgmental tone. "It was originally for Shan. Andrei just invited me over since we're neighbors."
