Iris ate the last spoon of soup that I got her, giving her colors back. She mentioned that she fell asleep when I was taking too long to get a simple chicken soup. "Is traffic really that bad?"

"Yeah," I chuckled dumbly. She turned her eyes into slits and raised an eyebrow. "Stop with that look, it's annoying. Are you feeling okay now?"

"I guess I am better? You're my lifesaver," she smirked. "Anyway Ken said he has a guy friend who is single and—"

"No. Seriously Iris? I told you not to go guy hunting for me."

I have no idea how many times she 'met' a guy who was 'single'. My ears are getting tired of hearing that. Why do people take being single a big deal?

"Okay whatever, he's not really that attractive for you."

"That is such a bad thing to say Iris," I sighed. "Just don't talk and rest, I'll just be right here."

She shut her mouth after that, staring on her ceiling. That gave me time to put Iris's trash outside and to go get more water for her. I made my steps silently on my way to her room, thinking she might be asleep. I closed the door quietly as well and just as I was turning around, she spoke.

"What were you doing before I texted you?"

"Oh my God you scared me!"

She rolled her eyes. "Don't dodge the question."

"I wasn't dodging the question, I really was scared!" I whined like a ten year old. Iris shrugged and stared at me, waiting for a response. "I was just watching Tangled—"

"Oh my God not with those romantic cartoon stuff you still watch," she sighed dramatically.

"Says the unromantic one who wants to be kissed in the damn rain," I rolled my eyes, clutching the knob again to leave the room. "You might laugh at this but I hate you so much for judging Disney movies like that!"

"Olive what's wrong, you okay?"

I don't know. "I... I-I'm hungry!"

"Then go help yourself at the store then. Your shift's in an hour."

Letting out a breath, I walked to the side of of her bed and sat on it. "Can we like hang out tomorrow or sometime?"

Iris gasped then laughing afterwards. She knows I miss her. "Are you jealous of Ken? Actually no don't answer that. And yes maybe we should go to a gym."

I've been telling her that I want to visit a gym and workout with her for fun but apparently she's too busy making out with Kenneth. It's been a lot of days since we last spent time together all because of a guy she's been seeing. I have waited for so long to see Iris settle with one man but I am not sure if I should be happy she finally is.

"Sure, just rest some more and," I paused, sighing. "Maybe invite your boyfriend over to keep you company."

Iris laughed and raised herself up so she could hug my side. "I missed you too Olivia."

I patted her shoulder and chuckled, "Pull away, I have a job to attend!"

She pushed me off playfully with a smile on her lips and saluted me. I collected my things and began to enumerate the things she should do but she stopped me saying I think I'm fine now. I scoffed, thinking she's calling her man right now.

Stepping inside the store, I noticed the silence was being covered up by the soft music playing in the background since this was one of the hours that we call dead. It means little amount of people would only come and my uncle and I chose this time to easily swap shifts.
