“Before you say anything, I just saw Justin making out with some girl on the way here.”
I felt a pang in my chest, knowing that he and I shared a kiss last night. So that's why it's not gonna happen again, huh. I gulp, pretending it didn't get to me. “So?”
“Didn't you guys stay at the club for a while? I was hoping something took off,” she pouts.
“Can we not talk about it? I've got a bigger problem to think about.”
“Is that why the store is closed?”
I let out a big breath. “I'm going back to Australia. Just for a week or so.”
“No way, why would you?” her mood suddenly went angry, knowing that I've told her everything about my past.
“To make closures. That's only it.”
“I wish I could come with you and give your parents some big âss slap on their cheeks,” she roars. “Oh my gosh I'm so exasperated at your decision. You're dumb. But whatever. I'm one call away.”
“I wish you could come with me too, this whole custody shît is not really making sense to me, all I know and all I want is to stay away from them.”
My uncle really fought to take care of me when I was only eleven years old. To make it all short (since I don't really like to talk about it), he caught my parents doing something illegal to me and immediately asked the court for my custody the next day. It wasn't all easy. It took a long time because I'm still so young that time, and my statements aren't really accurate for them. All thanks to my uncle having a proof to be able to win this case.
I chose not to put my parents in jail. I just wanted to stay away from them, that's it. I don't want anymore papers and stuff like that. I want to live normal. I don't want to live with issues. And now my mom decided to make an appearance and fûck my oh-so-peaceful life I have today.
Now that I'm on a very legal age, I'll be able to fight for myself now if my mom really wants me back. Uncle says she's just trying. I know her, she wouldn't even lift a finger for me. I wonder what she wants from me after ten years.
I was partly thankful to get Justin out of my head for a day because of this but I never asked for this situation. Uncle and I are only waiting for Kenneth and Iris to take us to the airport right now.
A knock on the door was heard, and of course I insisted to open it since I think my uncle is still busy choosing what pair of shoes would he wear. I swing the door open and expected Iris to be in front of my doorsteps, but it was Justin. Looking so delicious in that tight v-neck shirts he always wear.
“Um...” Get it together, Olive.
“Hey.”
He licked his lips as his eyes flickered on my lips, making me wanna melt into a puddle. Why does this guy have the powers to put me into this state? I barely even know him.
I reply with nothing but silence so he speaks up again. “Are you and Wilton off to somewhere?”
Humming, I crossed my arms on my chest while ignoring his eye contact. He tries to catch it and talks again. “Where to?”
“Anywhere away from you.”
“Woah there,” he laughs in disbelief. “What's got your panties in a twist?”
“Everything,” I answer truthfully but I know he wouldn't take it seriously because he knows nothing.
“I... honestly don't know what you're talking about.”
