(Y/n)'s POV

I followed Ciel and Sebastian back to their manor. *sigh* At least I'd have a job and hopefully earn a living. If not, then I'd simply take my leave.

"(Y/n), you will work as a maid but your main purpose is to protect me," Ciel exclaimed.
"Yes sir."
"Anyway, Sebastian!"
"Yes, young master?"
"Get the others."

I glared at Sebastian as he smirked at me before leaving. What was that guy's problem? Did I do something to annoy him?

"Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Meirin."
"I'm Finnian."
"Yo, I'm Baldroy."
"Nice to meet you all."

I managed a small smile before extending my hand. They all rushed to hold my hand, which I found pretty surprising.

"Um...?"
"You're very pretty, yes you are," Meirin commented.
"Uh...yeah..." Baldroy and Finnian added with red faces.
"Thank you."
"Alright, Bard and Finny, get back to work. And Meirin, give (Y/n) something to change into," Sebastian ordered.

Ciel's POV

Sebastian followed me into my office.

"What do you think about (Y/n)?"
"All I can tell you for now is that she's not human," he replied.
"Very well, get her to open up to you and gather more information. That is an order."
"Yes, my lord."

(Y/n)'s POV

Meirin ushered me into her room. It looked quite plain but I guess since she was a maid. Not like I could expect something from heaven or hell.

"Do you think this will fit?" she asked while holding up a dress that looked similar to hers.
"This'll do. Thank you."
"Do you need help with changing?"
"No, I'm fine."

I slid my dress off until my shoulders were exposed.

"Wait, Meirin? Would you be able to turn around please?"
"Well of course."

This time, I showed no hesitation with changing. It's just that no one should know of my scars. They made me feel like a monster...

~Some time later~

"(Y/n), the dishes need to be washed," Sebastian exclaimed.
"Tch, why is it that you get to do the fun stuff like cooking while I'm stuck with dish duty?"
"I ordered it, now I suggest you hurry up with your work."

Ugh, why is it that he's so obsessed with work? *sigh* While he took the food out to Ciel, I hurriedly finished cleaning up before escaping to the garden.

I missed my parents. Tch, like something like me can have such petty feelings. I needed to harden my heart.

"Oh, Miss (Y/n)? What are you doing out here at such a late hour?" Finny asked.
"Nothing much, I needed some time alone."
"You mean away from Sebastian?" he asked as if he already knew the answer.
"Yeah, I know he's trying to unlock my secrets. Most likely according to Ciel's order."
"Why is that though?"
"I don't know, I need more time to find out."
"Oh, seems like you're having a hard time."
"Anyway, what happened to the garden?"

He nervously scratched the back of his neck.

"Well..." he started.
"Want some help?"
"Yes please! That would be great!"
"Then let's get to work."

This garden was a mess and apparently we were going to have a surprise visit from someone tomorrow.

All this working...it would be much easier to use my wings.

"Hey Finny, would you like a rest? I can manage the rest by myself."
"Are you sure? I mean I can't let a lady do all the work."
"Yes, you may go rest. I'll be fine."
"O-okay, if you insist."

When I made sure that he was no longer in sight, I allowed my wings to appear and spread. That felt much better.

With a small movement, I was lifted off the ground and into the cool night air. What a relief.

Oh right...the garden needed attendance. Oh well, the flying can wait.

The whole time Ciel took to eat a simple dinner, I was fixing Finny's garden.

"(Y/n)."

Oh no, my wings disappeared, which caused me to crash into the ground.

"What?"
"I believe you have taken quite a fall. Would you like some medical treatment?" Sebastian asked, faking concern.
"No, I'm fine."

The feeling in my legs seem to give way as I fell down again.

"You seem unable to stand. May I help you?" he asked.
"No, leave me alone."
"Lady (Y/n), I do believe that young master would not like for you to be hurt."
"Tch, fine. But no funny business or you'll end up in a pitiful state."

He simply nodded and picked me up before heading towards my room.

It was plain, like Meirin's. Nothing else could be said about it.

"Please wait here, I'll be back with some things," Sebastian exclaimed.

He re-entered my room in what felt like a few seconds.

"May I?" he asked.

I nodded. If it meant that he would be out of here sooner then sure.
He lifted up my dress until it reached my knees.

"It seems that you've re-opened some old scars. Have you often fell over?"
"You could say that."

It was more of a torture. I'd prefer falling over torture any day.

He gently cleaned my wounds and bandaged them.

"Next time, please refrain from falling in trees," he scolded.
"No promises."

He sighed before packing up the things and taking his leave.
Ugh, there were twigs and leaves in my hair. Washing up didn't sound like a bad idea.

Wait...what about my wounds? It should be fine. I've faced worst things in my life.

Unlike Ciel and Sebastian, us low lives had to share a bathroom. Tch, talk about human rights and equality.

I reached my hand out to open the door but it was immediately shut before I could even open it more than a crack.

"Sorry Miss (Y/n), I'm not done and the lock's broken!" Finny yelled from the other side of the door.
"Oh, that's fine! I'll just wait a while!"

Was my life really gonna remain like this? Mother, father...are you happy now? Are you happy now that you're in peace? I miss you...
