Chapter 7

(Y/n)'s POV

I woke up with a sweat. What happened? Huh...why am I in bed? The last thing I remember...I flew into the sky and blacked out.

"You're awake," Sebastian commented.
"Ah! What happened?"
"I believe you fainted while you flew off," he replied with a smirk.
"Damn you...I hope you didn't do anything strange."
"You do not need to worry, I have just gave you something to help with your pain."
"How do you know about that?"
"The way your wings were bleeding. Your blood's purple, quite unlike the usual red colour. But I do believe you should stay close to me."
"Why should I?"

Instead of a reply, he took my hand and the pain disappeared almost completely. The moment he let go, the pain came back.

"Now do you understand?" asked Sebastian.
"Do the others know of this?"
"Only the young master. Also, there are a few chores you have to do to make up for your absence."
"*sigh* Fine."

After he left, I looked back at my wings and noticed that some of it had been treated with medicine. What was happening to me?...

~Some time later~

I stretched my arms and leaned against the door. I wonder what Liam's doing now. Hopefully he didn't get in trouble for visiting me.

"Miss (Y/n), are you done for the day?" Meirin asked.
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"No reason, just out of curiosity," she replied with a smile.

I smiled back. Seriously...Bard, Finny and Meirin were all better than Sebastian. He got on my nerves too much. And as for Tanaka...I didn't know what to say about him.

Soon, I found myself in the manor's garden. It was already dark so no one was around.

"Hey (Y/n)."
"Liam, why did you come back?"
"Don't worry, I'm not going to be punished. Going to Earth isn't a crime, you know?" he replied cheekily.
"What's up in heaven?"
"Nothing much. Everything's back to normal."

He flew down and sat down beside me.

"How's the demon?" asked Liam.
"Still as annoying as ever."
"Do you know why he annoys you?"
"Because he's...he gets on my nerves."
"No, it's because you loooove him."
"Be quiet before I rip your throat out."
"Yes ma'am!"

I laughed. To be honest, I was surprised that his parents haven't 'disciplined' him for visiting me. They literally wanted to cook me alive.

"(Y/n), what is that angel doing back here?" Sebastian asked with a glare.
"None of your business. Go do your chores. I have none left."
"Have you forgotten? I have to be next to you," he replied, smirking.
"Why does that demon have to be next to you?" Liam asked while glaring at Sebastian.
"*sigh* Because of my back. For some strange reason, he reduces the pain if he touches me."

Liam's eyes widened.

"What?"
"N-no, it's nothing. Well, I'll be going now. Have a good night."

Before I could answer, he had flown away. I wanted to talk to him more. Why did he leave?

"Does your back hurt?" Sebastian asked.
"It's been the same for the whole day."
"You know, it would be helpful if you would be able to tell me what you are," he exclaimed.
"Figure it out yourself, you seem capable of doing that."
"Are you complimenting me?"

I looked up at him and noticed that he had a playful smirk on his face. I simply glared at him before looking at my feet again.

"Do you want to fly?" asked Sebastian.
"Why do you ask? I'm fine."
"I know this may sound strange to you but I get the feeling that your wings are urging you to use them."
"I don't need to."
"No one's going to be watching at this late hour. Plus, young master is asleep."

I sighed knowing that he did have a good point. Maybe a little fly wouldn't hurt. I allowed my wings to appear and flew into the sky.

Sebastian's POV

She flew up towards the sky with a smile on her face. I accidentally let myself smile at the thought of her laughing. Damn her, I did not ask for this strange feeling.

Wait, what's that? Something was lurking in the shadows... My eyes widened at the realisation of what it was. I jumped up and caught the oddly-shaped spear before it hit (Y/n).

She immediately flew back down and landed behind me.

"What was that?" she asked.
"*sigh* A certain red-haired grim reaper."

Grell came out of the shadows and charged at me with his weird aura of love. I simply moved to the side before he could land his hands on me.

"Awww, Sebby-chan...has your heart been stolen by (Y/n)?"
"Do you two know each other?"
"Yes, we do. I used to always cause trouble for him," (Y/n) replied with a smirk.
"Is that something you should be smirking about?"
"Sebby-chan, see how mean she is? You have to take sides with me and defeat her," exclaimed Grell.
"*sigh* Why are you here?"
"To see my dear Sebastian of course."

Before he could hug me, I pulled (Y/n) close to me and kissed her forehead. Her face flushed a bright red.

I could feel her struggling to get out of my grasp.

"Just play along, I saved your wings so you owe me," I whispered into her ear.

She 'tched' before giving me an annoyed nod.

"Sebby-chan, how could you betray me? I thought we were a couple!" Grell yelled.
"I'm terribly sorry, Grell but it seems like my heart has already been stolen."

He seemed to go into 'death mode'. (Y/n) pushed me away and blocked Grell's attack. At least he wouldn't be annoying me for the time being.

(Y/n), surprisingly, had the upper hand in this fight even though her wings were somewhat infected.

When (Y/n) finally beat Grell, she flew inside. She seemed annoyed that she had got caught in my mess. Well, it had to be done or else that annoying grim reaper wouldn't stop bothering me.
