Chapter 16

(Y/n)'s POV

The guilty feeling in my chest wasn't going away. I couldn't stand watching what Katrina was doing to Liam.

"Please stop..."
"No, you can't boss me around. I'm going to keep torturing him until you reach the fifth stage of your awakening," she replied with a smirk.

Blood oozed out of his wounds. His eyes were closed and his breathing was slow and shallow.

"Stop!"

The walls shook violently and the pain in my back grew stronger. I couldn't stop myself as the light glowed around me, causing Katrina to shield her eyes.

"(Y/n), stop! Don't do it!" yelled Liam.
"No...I must. She did this and she'll pay."

I couldn't let her win. I'd rather die than see the ones close to me get hurt.

Liam's POV

No, she cannot be doing this. Where was Sebastian?! Damn it...seemed like I wasn't convincing enough.

(Y/n) couldn't proceed onto her fifth stage. This was all my fault. I was too careless. She wouldn't have even gotten to her second stage if it wasn't for me. Seeing me like this...it was too much for her.

I needed to get out of these chains.

"It's no use, Liam. She'll soon be a new pawn for my father. It's all over," Katrina exclaimed.
"No, it's not over yet."

She ignored me and sent another attack towards me. Blood stained my clothes. Tch, she wasn't the demon princess just for show huh?

Suddenly, she was hit from behind. (Y/n) had stood up but a dark shadow had covered her eyes. No...don't do this.

"(Y/n), stop! It's not worth it! Look at yourself! They wanted you to become like this!"
"I don't care. You're hurt and it's my fault. I can't live like this."
"Your eyes...they were so pretty, I felt a calmness wash over me every time I look into them. Now, they're gone. (Y/n), please listen to me and stop..."

Tears had slid down her cheeks. The tears fell to the ground, where flowers grew every time they hit the ground. But the flowers, much like her eyes, soon withered.

"Liam, I'm sorry. I can't stop myself. It's going to be over soon, you'll be safe. Don't worry about a thing."
"No!"

Sebastian's POV

"Ugh, fine! Be on your way! Go see her! If it means that you can stop loving Grell in that disgusting way then go! Hurry up!" ordered the young master.
"*smirks* Yes, my lord."

I wasted no time in going there and quickly opened the door. She wasn't here.

"No!"

I'd have to thank that angel one time. Because of his 'scream' for help, I knew where they were.

"No, (Y/n). It's not over."
"S-Sebastian, help me! That girl is a monster!" Katrina said like a frightened puppy.

She ran over to me but I simply moved to the side. *sigh* This nostalgic feeling reminded me of that red-haired grim reaper.

(Y/n) was looking at me with an expression of happiness and fear. I walked towards her and pulled her into a kiss.

Her breathing slowed down and she stopped the burning light around her.

"S-Sebastian...I'm scared of myself..."
"There's nothing to be scared of because I love you. I know it took me a long time to realise that and I'm sorry."

(Y/n)'s POV

Some kind of warm feeling filled my heart. I couldn't contain my happiness as a bright light glowed around my hands and spread throughout the rotten prison cell.

The chains around Liam's feet and hands were broken. All of his wounds were healed, I was glad. Tears fell from my eyes. Everyone was safe...

I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I felt sleepy...

"(Y/n)!"

~Some time later~

My eyes fluttered opened. What happened?...

"You're awake."
"L-Liam? Where are we?"
"In Ciel's manor. Sebastian said it was best that we bring you back here."

Suddenly, all the events that had occurred before flowed back into my mind.

"Are you alright?! You're not too hurt because of me...are you?"
"No, (Y/n). I should thank you. You saved my life. I would've died if it wasn't for you."

He pulled me into a hug. I saved him? I hugged him back and cried.

"I thought you would hate me..."
"I could never hate you," he replied with a smile.

Suddenly, the sound of the door opening startled us and caused us to fall over.

"Seems like I came in at the wrong moment," Sebastian commented.
"No, it's fine. Anyway, please look after her. If I found out that you've hurt her, then prepare yourself for death," exclaimed Liam.

I laughed. Seriously this guy...

"Don't worry, I don't plan on hurting her nor do I plan to die."
"Well, I'll be going now. I'll come back to visit you love birds some other time."

I watched as he left through the window and disappeared into the sky.

"(Y/n), are you alright?" asked Sebastian.
"Yes, I'm fine."

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in."
"(Y/n), welcome back. I see you've recovered well enough. Sebastian has informed me on the details so there's no need to explain. Anyway, would you be able to continue working for me?"
"Of course, master Ciel."
"That's good. You should consider yourself lucky since I'm letting you have the day off."
"Thank you."

Before I could get up, Finny rushed in and hugged me like this was the last time we were gonna meet.

"(Y/n), where were you?! Do you know how worried I was?!" he asked with a worried expression.
"I'm sorry."

I ruffled his hair and smiled. It felt good to be back. Hopefully there won't be any other big events that'd break us apart...
