(Y/n)'s POV

~The next day~

"Ciel, come on! Please?" Elizabeth begged.
"No, I am not obliged to hold a ball here," he replied.
"But it'll be fun! I'll make sure to dress you up as cute as a doll-"
"I do not need 'dressing up'. I am fine with this attire, I am not wearing pink frills and fake wigs."
"Don't worry, Ciel. I won't do that to you."

Liam and I stood in the corner of the room, watching the two argue like a married couple. Sebastian had gone to make breakfast while the others were playing outside with (D/n).

"Hey (Y/n), I've been wondering about something for a while," said Liam.
"What is it?"
"What happened to Ciel? How does he know about angels and demons? Why did he form a contract with Sebastian?"
"*sigh* Like I would know."
"What? You don't know?"
"Am I supposed to?"
"Well, you do work for him."
"Just because I work for him doesn't mean I know everything about him."
"Fine! Just please stop screaming in my ear. If it'll make you stop whining then I'll organise everything for the ball-"
"Yay! Thank you, Ciel!"

I smiled as they finally came to an agreement. Sebastian came out with the breakfast and gave me a smile before going back inside the kitchen.

~Afternoon~

I pulled the curtains away and stepped forward into the room where Elizabeth was waiting for me. She turned around and squealed with excitement. All I could do was stand still as she hugged me tightly.

"(Y/n), that dress is perfect! Now I'll just have to do your hair and give you some accessories," she exclaimed with a happy smile.

Elizabeth pulled out a chair for me and told me to sit down. I did, and waited patiently for her to do my hair.

She had prepared a black dress that spread out as it got lower. One of my shoulders were revealed while the other had a long sleeve. She had found a matching (f/c) necklace and earrings. My heels were a soft silver colour.

"There! All done. Now I just have to help Ciel, Sebastian and Liam. The servants should be able to take care of themselves with the clothes I left them. Well then, see you at the ball!" she said before leaving the room.

I looked in the mirror. My hair was done in a loose braid, with some strands left by the side of my face. She had put a small black rose in my hair.

~At the ball~

Ciel was dressed all in a dark navy. The colour matched his eyes. Liam had on a white tux with his hair slicked up. Wow, Elizabeth was actually quite good at all this stuff. I thought she only cared about cuteness.

"(Y/n), may I have this dance?"

I turned around and my eyes widened. To be honest, I never thought Sebastian had any other clothes, seeing how he always wore the same suit everyday. His tux was fully black with some parts that were a dark grey. It suited him perfectly.

I smiled and took his hand, letting him lead me.

"Lady Elizabeth did a good job, don't you think?" he asked with a slight smirk.
"Yeah, why don't you learn something from her? You could use some changes in your attire every so often."
"Oh really now? I never thought you cared about clothes."
"Well, I never did. But seeing as how Elizabeth has dressed you up for this ball, I think I do now. You look good."
"And you look beautiful."

I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks as he said this. Looking away from his intense gaze, I tried to find something else to distract my mind. He lifted my chin up and whispered softly into my ear. His warm breath sent shivers down my spine.

"I think it's time to change partners," Liam exclaimed as I was pulled into his arms.
"You look tired. Did Elizabeth's nagging annoy you?"
"Geez, I never thought she could be so fussy about this. It took a while for her to decide which one of the three suits I would wear tonight."
"Ahaha, sounds like her."

The rest of the dance was peaceful and silent. All that could be heard was the soft music in the background and the quiet chatter of the guests.

After the dance, I went to the side of the big ballroom. I felt a little out of place with all these humans. They all had families and they were rich, while I only had Liam and Sebastian. This ball thing was normal for them, but it wasn't for me.

I headed outside to see the fireworks. They shone brightly in the night sky. Suddenly, someone hugged me from behind, leaning slightly against me.

"Sebastian?"
"(Y/n), what are you doing out here by yourself?"
"It was too stuffy inside."
"Let's go."
"Go where?"

Instead of a reply, he picked me up and jumped down onto the ground below. We headed to the beach before he finally put me down. I intertwined my fingers with his as we walked barefoot down the beach.

I stepped into the shallow water, feeling the coldness against my skin. It felt nice to be away from the ball for a while.

"(Y/n)?"
"Hmm?"

He simply placed a kiss on my lips and smiled before pulling me along. I smiled to myself, happy that I was with him. There was nothing else I wanted, I was satisfied.

"Hey, you do know that you can't leave my side, right? I'll never forgive you if you do."
"You do not need to worry, (Y/n). That time will never come," Sebastian replied with a small smile.

I just looked up at the sky and smiled at nothing in particular. Sebastian, I love you. You know that, right?
