Chapter 17

(Y/n)'s POV

~The next day~

"(Y/n), wake up! Master Ciel let us have the day off! Come on, let's go play!" Finny yelled from the other side of the door.

Ugh, just when I had hoped I could have some rest...

"Alright, I'm coming!"

I reluctantly got up and changed into something simple. Maybe I should change this dress...they were hard to move around in.

By the time I was done, I had a loose shirt and comfy pants I could wear. Good enough.

"(Y/n), hurry up. I'm bored," exclaimed Finny.
"Alright alright."

After I quickly changed and did my hair, I opened the door and almost fell over.

"Whoa Finny, were you leaning on the door? You should've told me."
"Hehe sorry, I was bored."

He just smiled and dragged me to the lounge.

"I'll need to go on an errand in town today. (Y/n) and Sebastian will be coming with me," Ciel announced.
"Yes, master Ciel."

Finny gave me a pout before leaving.

~When you arrive in town~

I was aimlessly wandering around town. Ciel, for some unknown reason, didn't need me at all and just called me out here for fun.

Just when I least expected it, someone bumped into me from around the corner.

"Oh, sorry Miss!"

The young boy held out his hand and pulled me up.

"Don't worry about it."
"Um...do you want to buy one?" he asked while holding up a basket of apples.
"Yeah, sure."

He smiled happily and gave me one after I payed for it.

"Thank you!"

And that'd probably be the last time I saw him.
*sigh* It's not like I would taste anything when I'm eating this apple. I noticed some writing on the skin...which frightened me at first.

Eat it, it'll taste good. ~Liam

Huh? Since when did he order little human boys to deliver food for him? Hesitantly, I bit into the apple and a burst of flavour filled my mouth.

"It's good, isn't it?"
"How did you make this?"
"I don't know. My mum invented this for angels and demons that couldn't eat happily," he replied while ruffling my hair.
"It's really good."
"Anyway, what are you doing out here all alone? You could get kidnapped."
"I think I already did."

He pouted and crossed his arms. I just laughed and took his hand.

"Come on, let's go walk around for a bit."
"Where's Sebastian?"
"Being bossed around by Ciel."
"Oh, I thought I saw him at this strange-looking shop a few minutes ago."
"Really? Where?"
"Come on."

He led me towards...a strange-looking shop.

"Well, I'll be going now. See you soon."
"Bye Liam."

I knocked on the door and went inside.

"(Y/n)? What are you doing here?" asked Ciel.
"I had nothing to do."

Unexpected, Sebastian slipped his hand into mine. I smiled at him.

"What are you two doing here?"
"We have some things to discuss with the undertaker," replied Sebastian.

Some time later, a grim reaper came out from a coffin. Was that normal?

"Did you get the information I wanted?" Ciel asked. Did these two know each other?
"Yes I did. But make me laugh, then I'll give it to you."

Ciel sighed and shooed us outside. Sebastian smirked and kissed the tip of my nose. *blush*

"What do you think Ciel will be doing?"
"I honestly have no idea. He usually orders me to do the funny acts."
"Anyway, I won't disturb you from your duty anymore. I'll meet up with you soon."

Before he could grab onto my arm, I ran away and poked my tongue out at him. He just sighed and smiled at me.

~Some time later~

Before I knew it, I found myself in a strangely deserted street, which seemed eerily creepy.

"There she is! Hands up, you're under arrest."

Huh?! What's happening?!

I was pushed to the ground and handcuffed.

"I think you made a mistake. I didn't-"
"There's no mistaking it. This is you, right?"

They showed me a picture of....myself.

"Yes, that is me but-"
"(Y/n) (M/n) (L/n), you are under arrest for committing murder."
"What? You are terribly mistaken."

Before they could drag me to the carriage, I kicked the guy and landed a few metres away. That gave me the chance to run.

"Come back here!"

I kept on running. They had the wrong person. That picture indeed was me but I didn't commit any murder.

Suddenly, my leg was shot at and that prevented me from running. Damn it...I tried limping but they soon caught up to me.

"Don't try to escape or we'll have you killed."

Sebastian's POV

Where was (Y/n)? She was taking an awfully long time to come back.

"Sebastian, let's leave first. She knows the way home."
"*sigh* If that's what you wish."

~Back at the manor~

"Finny, what's wrong?"
"Look at this newspaper! (Y/n)...she was arrested for murder!"

Huh? What was he talking about? He handed me the newspaper and (Y/n) was on the front cover.

*sigh* Another crisis has appeared in front of our eyes.

"What happened to her?!"

Liam flew in and grabbed onto my shirt.

"The news is all over the place! She's arrested for murder?! What is going on?" Liam asked angrily.
"I do not know. This is the first that I've heard of this too."
"Well, you better keep that promise. You don't want to die, right?"
"Don't worry, I'll clear up this mess eventually."

(Y/n), why does this always happen to you?...

"Miss (Y/n) didn't actually commit murder, did she?" asked Meirin.
"No, she would never," Liam replied.
"Yeah, he's right. She would never do such a thing!" Finny exclaimed.

They were actually right. She would never do that.
