Chapter 21

(Y/n)'s POV

I needed help. I felt so pathetic. I couldn't do anything. All I could do was wait for someone to save me. Tch, why do I even live?

"(Y/n)! Please focus on what I'm saying! We are currently doing an interrogation," exclaimed Lachlan.
"Oh, huh? Yeah..."
"Huh, yeah?! That was not the answer I was looking for. You should be saying, 'Yes, I admit that I killed Alois Trancy'. Things would be so much easier if you just told the truth."
"I won't admit to something I didn't do."
"Geez, you make everything so hard for us."

Tch, it wasn't my fault. You guys are the ones that didn't believe me.

"It would be much appreciated if you could take these chains off."
"And let you escape? Not in a million years."

Suddenly, a pain spread throughout my back. Damn it, I forgot about what had happened to my wings.

"You know, we can heal your wings. But you have to stop lying first."

No, I wasn't going to ask for his help. My wings were strong enough to handle this.

After a while of awkward tension, he took his leave without a word. *sigh* I let my wings appear and looked at the wound. Tch, it wouldn't heal for a while unless I treated it somehow.

Where am I? What am I doing here?...

"Father! Mother!"

They were right in front of me. Tears slid down my cheeks. They were alive...they were actually alive.

"Who are you?" asked mother. She looked unusually tired.
"What do you mean? I'm your daughter-"
"We don't have monsters as daughters," father exclaimed.
"...what?..."
"You heard me. Now get lost before I kill you."

I could only collapse to my knees as I watched their figures drift further and further away.

What did I do? Why was I always alone? I needed someone, but that probably wasn't possible. My life was indeed cursed.

"Yes, your life is cursed. No one will ever like you. You're a monster."
"T-that's not true..."
"You know it is. Soon, all the people around you will die because of you."
"No...they won't."
"Yes they will. Don't deny it, (Y/n). It's the only truth that I've told..."
"No! I won't believe anything that you say, whoever you may be! My friends are not going to die and I'm not a monster! I've never been one and never will be! Now get out of my sight, you evil creature!"

My other self was turned into ashes. No one insulted me like that. I won't accept it.

I woke up with a start. Sweat had formed along my forehead. What was that just then?
I was a monster? No! I couldn't believe something that an illusion said.

(Y/n), can you hear me?

Sebastian, is that you? I...

Please hang on for a while longer. We'll come save you soon.

I miss you guys...

Yo, I'm here too. The only reason you can talk to Sebastian is because of me. I helped him you know.

Haha, hey Liam. I see that you two are doing fine.

Before I could talk anymore with them, Lachlan rushed in and held a knife to my throat.

"Who were you talking to?"
"No one."
"Tch, you seem pretty confident that you can beat me in this fight. But in case you didn't notice, I have the upper hand."
"Why do you even care who wins this fight?"
"Belinda is already tracking their location. You won't be able to escape now that we will have hostages."
"We'll see."

Suddenly, he stabbed my stomach. Damn it... I refused to show any weakness.

"Lachlan, we've found them!" Belinda exclaimed.

He smirked and dragged me outside. In the distance, I could see Liam. He was flying towards me while swiftly dodging the bullets and arrows.

Liam's POV

I noticed (Y/n) crouching on the floor with a massive wound on her stomach. Damn those stupid humans. I hated seeing her being tortured like this. If Sebastian was here, he would've most likely killed each and every one of them. That was why I went by myself.

"Quick, catch him!"
"Lachlan, I just did a background check. He's the angel prince!"

What the hell? How did they know me?! Damn it, there were too many things flying towards me.

Once I reached the ground, I chanted a spell that stopped the weapons from damaging my body.

"Hand her over."
"I'm afraid that's not possible, Liam Summers," replied the guy that seemed to be Lachlan.
"This is your last chance. Hand her over before I order them to attack."

Of course, the angels behind me were an illusion. Mere humans couldn't tell.

"Shoot him. The rage of the angel king shouldn't be too great, should it? Anyway, I'm going to take (Y/n) back in."

Not when I was here. I allowed my wings to fly me towards (Y/n). When I reached her, I picked her up and flew up into the sky.

"Liam..."
"Don't worry, we're never letting you go again."
"Where's Sebastian?"
"He's at the manor. I didn't allow him to come or else he would've killed everyone."

The pain in my heart grew stronger. She asked about Sebastian...damm it, if only I could get rid of my feelings for her...

"Not so fast!"

A loud and powerful explosion caused me to lose my balance and fall. Ropes were thrown at (Y/n). She was dragged away while I couldn't do anything...the wounds I had prevented me from getting up.

(Y/n)...

(Y/n)'s POV

"I'm terribly sorry, Mr Lachlan. But you all die here," exclaimed Claude.

What?... He killed everyone around me in a flash, including Lachlan.

"Now, Miss (Y/n) you are coming with me. Lady Katrina has ordered you to be taken to hell and forced to follow her commands until the day you die."

What was going on?...
