I woke up the next morning a headache pounding at my head. I roll over in bed trying to go back to sleep, but I couldn't. I slowly make my way to the bathroom and find headache medicine. I take the requested dosage and go back to my room, I curl up with my fuzzy blanket and look at the clock. It's 6:45 in the morning, I sigh, it was a Tuesday, I had work tomorrow hopefully this headache would be gone by then a cough escapes from my chest as I try to breathe slowly threw my nose.
"You alright?"
I then to see Icicle standing in the door way, her white hair still fluffy, she must have just woken up.
"Yeah, did I wake you up?" I ask pulling the blanket tighter around me as a cold chill ran up my spine.
Icicle walks into the room putting the back of her hand to my head. "Stay put," she said before walking out of my bedroom.
Soon she's back with a small cup of tea, after getting me into a sitting position, "Drink" she says simply before pushing the cup gentaly into my hands.
I raise the cup to my lisp and let the hot tea warm me as I drink it slowly. Icicle gets a thermometer and once I finish the tea. She takes the cup, setting it on the nightstand besides my bed. She puts the end of the thermometer in my mouth. She waits for it to beep.
Theres an annoying little beep, then Icicle removes the thermometer from my mouth.
"Your running high, 105.8" she says showing me the thermometer.
Fire elements once they got their powers their core tempature rises to 102.0, almost 4 full degrees higher than a normal human, but I was running 3.8 degrees above my normal core temperature. Well that explains why I felt like crap, I let out a sigh and wrap myself in the blanket even tighter.
"Your to stay in bed and rest" Icicle says, about to leave, the cup and thermometer in hand.
"But Ici-" I start to wine before I cut off by a cough.
"Stay" Then she left the room heading down stairs to wash the cup and thermometer.
I sit back in my bed, glancing over at my book shelf I see a old leather book, I smile and hold up my hand.
'I better have enough strength to do this.' I say to myself as I focus on causing the book to come to me.
I close my eyes and picture the book, I fell a plastic material that protected the books cover touch my hand. I open my eyes to see the book in my right hand. I smile and bring the book down on to my lap. Then before I can even open the book I drift off into sleep.
