*Maki*

"Maki?"
My eyes blink open, it was the middle of the night.
"Maki..."
I sit up and look around only to find Smoke trying to sit up in his bed. I turn in the chair and reach over him and gentaly push him back down onto the bed.
"You need to rest"
"So do you, you body took a beating in the bubble just as mine did"
"How so? I feel fine"
"Look at yourself"
I did, and what I saw stunned me, my skin was covered in, now glowing orange, markings. Each of which was a beautiful mix of dots and swirls.

I gasp as I look back over at Smoke, he too had these marking as they begun to glow. Unlike mine, his marks where rough and jagged, each of them glowing a sickly green color. One of the marks cut right threw his left eye.

"They don't seem to be hurting you yet like mine."
I looked at him with a soft smile on my face, trying to reassure him. But my smile quickly faded when Alexander began coughing, I spun around in my chair to face my pale faced parnter. He was breathing heavily, the burns on his body finally being to heal with the treatment he was given.
"Alexander," I say, seeing if I could get a reaction out of him, "Alexander..."
His eyes slowly open, his head tilts towards me, and he let's out a sigh of relief. Appently glad to see that I was okay and relativly unscaved.
"Get back to sleep you two, we have a long ride home tomorrow"
They both give me werid glances, I smile and let out a small, quite laugh. "Neither of you are prepared or capable to take care of yourselves after this, plus there is some people I would like you two to meet!" I say with a smile on my face. They both smile and soon both their eyes start to droup shut until they're fully closed. Showing me that they were asleep again, after a few minutes I was asleep again too.

The next morning, I woke up to Raven pulling lightly at my pant leg.
"What is it Raven?" I ask rubbing my eye with one hand using my other hand to put my hair back up into my ponytail.
'I am hungry and none of the nurses can hear me talking so I woke you, I tried not to be loud enough to wake Alexander because he can hear me too'
"Alright," I mummbled standing up as I did so, "now be quiet, the others are still sleeping"
Raven and I sneek quitely out of the room and head back to the Inn. Heading to our room, I dig the key out of my pocket, when we get there I open the door. Raven does her normal routine, she sniffed the floor all around the room before deciding no one had entered the room, then jumped onto my bed. I laugh sliently and make her and myself some food. I sit down on the bed next to after I am done cooking with both of our breakfasts. As I begin to eat mine, Raven carefully picks hers up out of the bowl I had placed her food in. Her tail wagged as she ate, after alittle while she stopped eating and spoke up.
'Maki?'
"Yeah?"
'how do you eat things with that thing?'
I look at her confused for a second before realizing she ment the fork. I laugh sightly before I regain enough breath to explain to her what a fork was and how we use it, "Well, first off it's called a fork Raven, it's one of the three basic tools humans can uses to help them to eat their food."
'so what are the other two?' Raven said tilting her head.
I sigh, here I am, explaining what basic food utensils are, to a wolf, "the others two are a Spoon and a knife"
'oh cool!' then she went back to eating, forgetting the conversation we where just having. I laugh and run my fingers threw her fur.
After we finish eating I spot something under the bed. I grab it and  and pull it out. It's Alexander's notebook he using to talk to people. I place it in his bag putting the bag over my shoulder I grab my own bag and hand it to Raven. She takes the bag carefully in her mouth, I scan the room making sure we didn't leave anything behind. After finding nothing, we head out turning my and Alexander's keys to the front desk. I walks back to the hospital and go to the room Alexander and Smoke are in. Smoke is sitting up on the edge of his bed when I get there.
I smile, "good to see you are up and moving." I say as I set Alexander's bag down on a chair. Raven set my bag down on the floor next to the chair.
"I still can't stand for too long , but they said I could leave, Alexander is the one they are worried about, he hasn't woken up yet" Smoke said getting up and walking over to the sink in the corner of the room to wash his face. Raven stood by his side to make sure he didn't fall as I walk over to Alexander's bed.
"Alexander.... You need to wake up.... I know it hurts, but please.... Just wake up..." I mummbled lighty touching his nondamaged arm with my hand. Under my hand, Alexander moved sliently and his eyes opened slightly. Causing a smile to make it's way to my face.
'Hey Maki...'
I here a very wanted voice in my head, "Hey"
'Can we leave yet... I don't want to be here much longer it literally smells like a bottle of hand sanitizer'
I chuckle, rubbing his head lightly, "you just rest some more, me and Raven went back and got our bags, we also found your notebook." I say smiling.
Smoke made his way back to his bed, Raven came up to Alexander's bed and placed her paws on the side of his bed.
'Alex, you are awake!' Raven said her tail wagging happily.
Alex reached up with his good hand and ran it threw the fur on Raven's head.
"So how to you feel Alexander?" Smoke asks Alexander, I look at Alexander then back to Smoke.
"Smoke, Alexander is a mute, I can link the two of you so you can hear him in your head but it takes awhile to get used to"
"Oh. Well, I'll do, it so I can hear his voice, he seems like a really nice guy"
I see Alexander smile beside me. I press my palm lightly on Alexander forhead. "Smoke, can you try to get closer, I can't reach your forhead from here." I say reaching towards Smoke unable to reach his forhead.
Smoke gets up and carefully placed his forhead against my hand.
"Ready?" I ask, as Raven sits at my feet, I look at both of them. Both of them give me a nod. I take a deep breathe and focus on the spell. After about a minute I mummbled the key spell word.
"Link."

A few hours later we are at the train station, Alexander's backpack on my back. Raven was carrying my backpack because I was pushing Alexander in a wheelchair, most of his burns were healed but his leg was still covered in brusies and still badly burned. Smoke had a crutch to help him stand for longer periods of time. We got our tickets and boarded the train. We sit down in the wheelchair accessible booth and strapped his chair so it would not roll around the train car. Soon I find the two of them asleep, Raven once again laying motion sick on the floor of the train car. I laugh to myself before I to fall asleep with my head resting on the window of the train car.
