Chapter 28 (*)

I woke up to find my head craddled in Maki's lap, she didn't see me wake up because she's too focused on reading her book. Li was awake drinking some tea as she sat next to Guti. I seems like I was the last one to wake up. I try to move but everything is so sore. Maki noticed my movment this time and helped me sit up without causing myself too much pain. I look around the living room again, Everyone was in here, either chatting quitely or watching the movie on TV. 'Looks like they were waiting for me to wake up'
"Wakey wakey" I hear Icicle voice say as she taps my shoulder, scaring me. I jump and yelp sightly causing everyone to laugh.
"Not funny Ice brain!" I shout pouting, Maki laughs at the insult and soon everyone is laughing again.
"Thomas," Maki says after the laughter calmed down, "who's the next pairing?"
"I'll check," he said pulling out his phone, and generates the next pair between the 3 remaining numbers, "three and five, Guti vs Oliver"

Maki frowned, "Darn guess you two got lucky"
"Sure did!" They both say, sending the room into laughter.
"Hey, where's Raven? I haven't seen her since Icicle and Thomas's battle?" Maki said, probally wondering where her new wolf companion had gone off too.
Guti spoke up, "yeah I haven't seen Shadow either"
The others looked around the room, everyone with the same worried look on their face, "I am going to find them," Maki stated standing and heading towards the door using her magic to form a winter coat on her. Before anyone could stop her she was out the door, hair glowing red to give her light threw the quickly setting winter sun.
"We have to go help," Li say trying to stand, "Raven is apart of our family so is Shadow." Li almost fell after that statement, Guti just managed to catch her.
"You have to rest, Demterius as well, your magic levels are far too low to be out running in this cold"
Aqua spoke up, "I'll watch them Oliver, Guti, Icicle you guys go help Maki. Thomas stay here with me." Everyone was soon doing what was said and Icicle was got the door as soon as Aqua said she could go.
I just sat there watching the others get up and leave well besides Li, Thomas, and Aqua. But Oliver and Guti quickly pulled on their coats, grabbed flashlights, and headed out into the woods are fast as their feet could take them in the snow.

*Icicle*

Maki was by my side as we ran threw the wood, Maki calling out to Raven in her mind as we ran. Suddenly Maki stopped, and I skid to a stop next to her. Makis glowing hair lit up the forest around us for about six or seven feet and the setting sun cast long shadows threw the forest making finding two black animals harder that trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Oliver and Guti caught up to us, but Maki was still frozen still, her eyes scanning the forest.
We all stood back to back forming a square like shape each of us able to see something someone else could not. Then once again, Maki sprints forward her hair glowing brighter and brighter red. The rest of us followed quickly, there was a small cave to our left and Maki made her way carefully to it.
"Raven, Shadow" she asked softly, trying not to scare whatever was inside.
'Maki! You found us!' a fimilar voice barks happily threw our consciousness.
"Raven!" Maki says happily and the large she-wolf comes out of the cave followed by Shadow.
"Shadow, you bad dog!" Guti say once Shadow jumped on him and pushed him into the snow.
Guti began to laugh and cry at the same time, he was truly worried about his dog.
I pet Raven behind the ears, "what happened? How did you two end up here," I ask her confused.
'Me and Shadow were playing and soon it started getting dark and Shadow started to shake with the cold so I found this place and was trying to keep Shadow warm and call out to you, Maki!' Raven said you tail wagging happily.
Maki smiled, before standing back up, "let's get you two inside, it's getting late," she turned to Guti, "you can carry Shadow just in case right?"
Guti responded with a nod, handed his flashlight to Icicle, and picked the black lab up in his arms.

*Maki*

Soon we were starting to walk back my hair providing light like a lanturn but before long the glow started to weaken as so did I. The others cleanerly noticed, but they start to slow down so I could keep up. Next then I know my eyes are drifting close and I am starting to fall asleep. Raven sensed this and now stood in front of me in case I fell. Not much more than a few steps, I fell, landing with my arms wrapped sliently around Ravens torso. But most of my body landed in the snow. Making my hair glow is something I has never tried before so it zapped a lot of my energy.
'Maki!?' Raven shout confused as my hand flop down into the snow besides me.
"Maki are you ok?" Icicle asks, sitting me up leaning me against her so I would stay upright.
"Just... really tired..." I mumbles out, the glow in my hair fades untill you can no longer see it. The only light we had now have the two dim flashlights that Icicle and Oliver were carrying. I'm trying to keep my eyes open. But my eyes soon drift close and I could no longer tell who was talking.

"I'll carry her" a voice said as I felt myself being pick up out of the snow.
"Are you sure? I could carry her if you want"
"You need to use your magic to make some kind of lanturn, pretty sure neither me or Guti can do that"
'I could sniff the way home. The sent is very strong this way'
"Thank you Raven"
The next thing I know is that I am asleep in the arms of whoever was carrying me.
