Finding The Keys

Chapter 51

*Hatchet*

"They should be around her somewhere" I said as we were padding through the thick blanket of snow that covered the ground.
"We will find them. Do not worry" Raven said, her large body easily stepping through the snow.
The she-wolf nodded and opened her mouth to say something when a howl echoed through the cold air. My tail poofed up at the all to fimlar sound. "Shock! Wind!" I smiled, turned to Raven and the she-wolf, and began to run towards the howl. I howled back as I tried not to trip in the deep snow with my sore legs.
I can hear Raven's loud foot steps behind me and assume the she-wolf is nearby.
"Hatchet!" I hear a voice say as I am tackled to the ground by a blob of grey. "Where have you been!"
I roll out from under the wolf to see that's it's Wind, my lead tracker, he stands in as Alpha while I am gone. "Wind! Is everyone alright? I brought some guests." With that Raven and the She-wolf approach, the she-wolf sticking behind Raven. "Wind, this is Raven and... umm.... Miss. I never got your name..."
The she-wolf poked her head out from behind Raven, "I don't have one, so it's okay." The she-wolf says moving to stand besides Raven, her fur seemed to crackle with electricity as the static passed from her to Raven and back.
"Well, come with me, I'll take you to the others" Wind says, looking up at Ravens tall body.
"Is this a bit to intimidating?" Raven says shyly, "I'll change." And with a quick poof there stood a tall pale skinned female human with long black hair. She has black wolf ears and tail.
"Woah..." Wind said as Raven adjusted her these things to sit on her tiny human nose better.
"She dose a little bit of magic, it's sooo cool" I say, bouncing up next to Wind, "let's go I want to see everyone"

We follow Wind, as we do my leg begins to hurt again, I am not fully healed yet but I try  not to show it. Soon we come to a cave, its mouth yawning open with a large tooth that covered some of the entrance.
"Shock, Pumkin" Wind called into the cave, "come out we have visitors."
A black she-wolf slightly smaller than Wind steps out along with a fiery orange female pup, whom is about 8 months old.
"Hatchet!" The black she-wolf says, bouncing over and nuzzling my neck as a sign of greeting.
"Uncle Hatchet!" The pup squeaks, running over and doing the same.
The feel the she-wolf watching carefully, I can smell her fear as she cowards behind Raven.
"Umm... She-Wolf?... you have nothing to fear these are my pack mates," I watched as the she-wolf relaxed slightly, "Shock, how are Seed and Water?" I say turning to her.
"Okay, Water is having joint issues again but with out fresh herbs we cant do much to help him beside Pumkin laying on his joints to warm them up."

*she-wolf*

I stood nervously behind Raven as her tail swooshed across my back to comfort me. My nose told me two more wolves rested in the cave, presumably Seed and Water.
Thunder cracked overhead, the others ducked while I glanced up towards the sky.
Hatchet looked up, "let's get inside, it's going to storm, we can finish introducing ourselves inside."
We all went inside the cave, in the corner lay two gray wolves, both quiet old, they picked their heads up as they heard the tapping of our claws on the stone.
"Hatchet, who is the human and the she-wolf?" The older wolf with the more blueish grey fur said
"Yes, please introduce us," the old she-wolf said.
"The human is Raven, she can use magic to turn human, and shes my mom, and the she-wolf is a new friend of mine. She dosen't have a name, so it a bit hard introducing her to you Water, Seed"
I walked forward towards them, "Hello ma'm, sir, it's nice to meet you both" I say bending down softly to show respect.
"You are sweet, child, but there is no need to bow, sit let's converse for while." Seed said, I sat down next to the old she-wolf and we started talking. Water got up and walked over to Hatchet and started talking to Raven and him.
"So where are you from young one?"
"I was born human, my father sent me to a lab after they found my magic. My mother's dead, I suspect he killed her.... I-I lived in the lab u-untill early yesterday."
"You have had a rough start, you have a name, but you don't want to use it do you."
"No ma'm"
"I'll give you a new name, it was my job in my old pack to help name the newborns, let's give you a new name for your new life. Sound good?"
"Okay, thank you"
"Stand up, and turn, let me see you"
I stood up and slowly turned, stopping when she asked, and continuing when she said.
"Okay, you may sit again, I have ideas for your name now" She said nodding softly.
I sat back down and continued talking with the old she-wolf, she is very sweet. I glance over at Hatchet and Raven, Raven had turned to her wolf form now and Pumkin played hide and see in her thick fur.
"You like Hatchet, don't you. Hatchets not the best Alpha, and I belive if you can get the others to trust you, you could be a great alpha."
"Oh, no, I would not be a good alpha, I don't know anything about leadership..." I say, shaking my head.
"I think you know more then you think. I can sense the lightning magic in you. You are a very strong young lady."
"How... I-"
"We all have our ways little one. We all have our ways, and sometimes, it is better that you don't know." She said, but as she did so I swear I saw her eyes glow green.
