*Maki*

Icicle and I talked our way into the afternoon. Thomas would be leaving for collage right after his Christmas break. So as he finished moving into his dorm room Icicle was fine with me moving in. There was a spare bedroom upstairs at the end of the hallway, so we could leave Thomas's bedroom intact so he would have something to come back to during the holidays.
I look out side, the sun was supposed to be high in the sky now, but dark clouds ruled the sound of thunder crackled the sky in the distance. I wondered where Hatchet, Raven, and the she-wolf were.
"Maki!" Icicle called from downstairs in the living room. I go downstairs to find her standing with a present in her hands. "Merry Christmas!" She says holding the box out to me. I am taken back in shock, taking the present from Icicle I move to the couch.
"Icicle, you didn't have too" I say, unwrapping the box slowly, inside the box was a small statue made of a shimmering blue quartz like material. The statue was of a Phoenix, it's wings spread wide. I touch it, to my surprise the statue is freezing cold.
"Its made of a ice crystal rock, it takes all the qualities of ice except the melting part."
I carefully take the statue out of the box. Its beautiful, I turn it over in my hands a few times before carefully setting it back in the box.
"Thank you!" I say smiling happily, standing to give Icicle a hug.
"I am going to clean up the spare room would you like to keep the desk and cabinet in there?" She says letting go and turning to the stairs.
"You can leave them, I have a little bit of extra cash right now and I'll get a few hangers and stuff. I don't have much at the apartment beside my clothes and bed sheets so I may request your help in assembling a bunk bed later," I say, "one of the other teachers has one that she is trying to get rid of so maybe she still has it."
"Okay, that will save you some space, your going to put the desk under there?"
"I was thinking making it a bed for the girl. She has no where to go so why no let her stay with me until she decides on where she is going to go."
"Good Idea, there is enough room for her and Raven to stay in there" but I am not sure where Hatchet will be able to stay"
"From what it sounds like, he has a pack in the woods. He will probably stay with them." I say walking towards the table where my phone rests. I was planning on texting my teacher friend to wish her happy holidays and see if the bunk bed was still available. Icicle went upstairs to get ready for the day.

Zu-Kun left as quick as he came, he had things to prepare for both the hatching and for my combining with my other half. "It is happening tonight," I say breathlessly to Lunno, turning to face the tiny cat as she spread out her wings to streach, "We are going to where we belong"
"You sure you want to do this? You might not remeber this," Lunno said, "you may forget everyone here, the dragons, Zu-Kun, and the people you left to  come here."
"It's worth it," I say, "she is fighting to protect her family, something that I have only lost so far in my life. You are all the stable family I have Lunno, and if you come with me, I do not care where we go. As long as we are togeather."
"Okay!"
The sun fell from its place high in the sky to it's beutiful orange and pink glow bearly percing through the peaks of the mountians of which I have learned to travel over the past few years.  Clouds danced their way acrossed the sky and the soft flaping of wings alerted me to Old One landing next to me.
"Are you ready," Old One spoke softly, not wanting to break the presious slience I had been siiting in as Lunno was asleep in my lap, "Zu-Kun awaists you to get ready and go over a few last things with you. The dragons have begun to gather for the ceramony, none of them know that you will be naming the Hatchling, If you ever return to us, you will be the offical Name-bearer, but I understand if you get lost in this new world. You should know that all the dragons treat you with respect even if you decide to not come back to this world."
"Old One, this will always be the place that sheltred me through my toughest times and raised me into the woman I am today, where ever this new path will take me, you and the other dragons will be my guiding point and something to look back to." I say placing my hand on Lunno's back as I pick her up as I stand.
I climbed on to the Old Ones back and he took off into the sky, I held Lunno close to my chest and I cherished my last ride on a dragon for probably a long time. Lunno watched as we soared about the snow covered peaks of the mountains heading toward the Hatching Grounds.
"Old One," I say softly, "if you don't mind me asking, what name did your Name-Bearer give you?"
I watched as Old One lowered his head, "I never got a name until Zu-Kun found me, the Name-Bearer was murdered the night of my hatching...." I was the last public hatching of a dragon before the tribe move up here to the mountains. Our Name-Bearer was seen as an all to powerful witch who must be killed by the humans. So that's what they did, her name is Miss Azuroalmus the others called her Azu-Chan. That is why I can not cast magic, because I was not named by the Name-Bearer who hatched me."
"I am sorry" I spoke, "that's when Zu-Kun stepped up to be Name-Bearer?"
"Yes. Now rest up, we shall be there soon"
