A/N- Sorry for being inactive. I'm back now and SO excited to share my ideas!

  Word count: 1281

You woke up to the bright sunlight shinning through your window. Well, that and the fact you couldn't breathe woke you up. You grabbed a rag and blew your stuffy nose, sighing. There was no way King Arthur was going to give you a day off, and as soon as Merlin found out you were sick and working? Let's just say he was going to end up back in the stocks in the least.

You get ready for work quickly, getting your maid clothes on, and head to the castle. First thing as always, cleaning the banquet hall from after breakfast, then going to get lunch ready.

Just going to get the mop and walking to the hall made you exhausted. How on earth were you going to make it through the day? You started mopping the room, breathing uncomfortably through your mouth, hoping Arthur kept Merlin busy enough to keep him away for the day. Course, a person can only hope for such luck. It just so happened, as you hoped for this, Merlin came walking by the hall searching for you.

"Hey (Y/N)! How's your day going so far love?" he asked, walking over to you and pecking your forehead. You couldn't let him know you were sick. You know how boyfriends can be.

"Oh...uh...great!" You tried to make your voice sound as normal as possible, which wasn't easy considering it was already starting to leave you.

"I can't stay long, but are you sure you're okay? You look a bit pale." He said, scanning your face. You forced a smile.

"Yeah. Don't worry about me. I'm totally f-f-...ACHOO!" Of course your body had decided now was the perfect time to sneeze. You sighed, looking back up at Merlin's worried face. "Okay...so I may have a small cold. But I promise I'm okay Merlin. Trust me!" he turned and started walking back towards where Arthur was, dragging you with him. "Merlin stop! I can work I'm okay!" You couldn't hide the small smile on your face though, seeing how determined Merlin was to get you home.

Next thing you knew, Merlin was shoving open Arthur's door, with you being dragged behind him still. "ARTHUR!" Merlin yelled, trying to find where he was in his room. Arthur looked out from his bath room, obviously not wearing a shirt.

"What is it you idiot?! Oh...(Y/N)...just a moment. Merlin where's my shirt?!" he glared at Merlin. Merlin threw him his shirt, watching as Arthur quickly threw it on before walking out. "Alright. Now what is so important you couldn't even bring my CLEAN shirt, Merlin?"

"(Y/N) is sick and needs to go rest. She has nobody to take care of her though besides me so I need to go with her."

"I can't just send you BOTH home! Honestly Merlin, did you really think I'd let you both leave?! She's fine! If she wasn't she wouldn't be here right now!" Arthur looks at you. "Aren't you okay to work?"

You stood taller now that he was looking at you. "Um...Yes sir." You said before going into a coughing fit. " I am now sir..." you mumbled after you'd recovered.

Merlin looked at him. "You really want her to be making your food? And you say I'm the idiot." he said, smirking at Arthur's face when he realized he had lost this argument.

"Alright fine. Both of you go. But Merlin you will have double the work tomorrow, and I better see you BOTH back tomorrow at first light." He said, walking back into his bathroom. Merlin smiled at you.

"Well let's get you home then so you can rest." He scooped you up in his arms, not caring who was around and started jogging back towards where you lived. You laughed lightly at his childish behavior before coughing again with a groan. No laughing when sick. Got it. You thought. By now Merlin was walking again, weaving through the people in Town. "We're almost home love." He said softly.
Before you knew it, Merlin was walking past his own house, and into yours next door. He laid you into bed and covered you up. "I'll be right back." He said, kissing your head then hurrying out the door. You smiled and shook your head, pushing yourself up slowly. You go to the stove to heat a pan up for soup until Merlin got back.
You were just starting to cut some vegetables when Merlin walked back in. "(Y/N) what are you doing! I said to lay down!" He puts a small vial on the table before walking over to you and hugging you from behind. "I'll finish you soup. You go lay down. I want to take care of you today." He says softly in your ear. You sigh in defeat.
"Fine..." You mumble, putting down the knife in your hands and walking back to bed. You suddenly start feeling tired, the days events hitting you all at once.
"Here. Gaius made this for you. He said to drink it and you'll be better in no time." Merlin handed you the vial he has brought in. You shrugged and chugged it. It had a slightly sweet taste to it, being one of the easier medicines to take. Once you finished the medicine, Merlin came and sat beside you on the bed, a hot bowl of soup in hand.
"Really Merlin? You're going to feed me too?" You smiled and shook your head. "Do I have any say in this?"
"Nope!" He had a huge smile on his face. "Open up!" You opened your mouth so he could feed you the soup, trying not to laugh at the situation. Even so, you ate it all, extremely tired at this point. While Merlin went to put your bowl away, you lie down and Nestle into the blankets, letting your eyes close. The bed dips beside you, and you feel Merlin kiss your lips. You force open yours eyes and look at him.
"Merlin you're going to get sick now!" you say, a little irritated. He chuckles and pulls you into his chest.
"It's worth it. Besides, Gaius can help me out anyway if I do."
You can't stay irritated at him for long, his warmth and kindness getting the best of you. And in no time you drift off into a deep sleep.

You sleep all through the rest of the day and Night, even, waking up the next morning with Merlin sleeping beside you, still holding you close. You felt 100% better. Gaius really was amazing with making the perfect medicines. You smile and kiss his nose, poking his side at the same time. "Merlin wake up. We gotta go to work with Arthur." You say softly, laughing when he groans in annoyance.
"Hey (Y/N)? I think I caught that cold last night." He mutters, smiling. His voice was a little rough, but otherwise he seemed fine. "So before you say it, you were right." You laugh and jump up, grabbing his now empty medicine vial, putting it in a bag to bring back to Gaius. Merlin hugged you, smiling sleepily.
"Thank you for taking care of me yesterday." You say softly. He smiles.
"No problem my love. But I have a feeling Arthur is going to make today long and full of chores for the both of us." You laugh and push him out the door towards his home.
"I know. So go get ready you great buffoon of an idiot."
