"Look (Y/N)! There it is!"

You and Merlin were currently on horseback, traveling to see his mother. You've never had the chance to meet her, but Merlin was constantly telling you about how wonderful she was.

Ealdor had finally come into sight, the village full of people working. This was where Merlin grew up. You thought to yourself. Merlin glanced over at you, excitement showing on his face. You smiled back, seeing at how happy he looked.

Merlin gets off his horse and ties the reins to the post before coming to help you down.

"Thank you, Merlin."

"Of course, (Y/N)." He says, taking your hand once you've tied your horse up as well. He leads you through the village, greeting old friends as he goes. You stop at a small house near the end of the path you're on.

"Merlin wait." you grab his arm with your free hand. "What if...what if she doesn't like me?" you say softly, avoiding his eyes. Even though you had been together for over 6 months now, you worried his mother wouldn't approve. Merlin gently tilted your head up and kisses you gently.

"She's going to love you. Don't worry." he looks you in the eyes, smiling, before turning and knocking on the door. It opens soon after, revealing a young boy around Merlin's age. He had brown hair and pale blue eyes. Merlin lets go of your hand to hug him.

"Will! It's so great to see you again!" his big goofy grin spread across his face, mirroring Will's.

"It's about time! What took you so long to get back? I was starting to think Uther had found you out!" You chuckled at that.

"Trust me, Uther has no idea. He doesn't pay attention to much of anything."

Will looked at you, smiling. "Ah! You must be (Y/N)! Merlin's told us so much about you in his letters!" He opened his arms and hugged you. When he pulled away, he glanced at Merlin and back to you again. "Like seriously. He wouldn't shut up about you."

A woman appeared behind Will, smiling when she saw Merlin.

"Hello mum!" Merlin's smile somehow got bigger, hugging his mom.

"Oh Merlin it's great to see you again! Come in, please." She smiled and walked back inside, with Will, Merlin and you following behind.

"Mum there's someone I want you to meet as well. This is (Y/N)." he smiled and guided you forward to meet his mother. "(Y/N), this is my mother, Hunith."

You smile and bow slightly, being as respectful as you can. "It's wonderful to meet you, my lady."

She laughs lightly and pulls you into a hug, stunning you for a moment before you hesitantly hug back. "Please, dear, you're family now. Call me Hunith."

You smile and pull away. She looks at you, squeezing you arm reassuringly before turning to go back to where the food was almost finished cooking. Merlin hangs his jacket up before helping you get your cloak off(cause i live for cloaks).

You walk over to the table and start setting it for Hunith. Once the plates and silverware are in place, you set a vase of water in the center and look back at Merlin.
