By 8pm on the Friday evening Jason was asleep on the sofa, his head in Lexi's lap as she softly massaged his temples with her fingertips. He looked absolutely exhausted she thought to herself, noticing that his stubble was a little longer than usual as if he was too tired in the mornings to shave properly. She worried that he was pushing himself too much and resolved to make sure he ate properly and got plenty of rest that weekend. She traced her fingers along the planes of his cheekbones and down to his strong chin. 'You are so beautiful,' she whispered under her breath, thinking what a truly expressive face he had and how much she loved him.

After around an hour he yawned widely and opened his eyes slowly, shooting Lexi an apologetic glance. 'God, sorry Lex. I was well away there,' he rubbed his eyes and ran the same hand through his hair, before sitting up slightly and looking at her belly.'So, how's Bean? I'm sorry I haven't really asked. Can you feel him or her moving yet?'

Lexi shook her head and looked down to her growing belly. 'No. Sometimes I feel like little tiny flutters, almost like a butterfly in there, but I wonder whether I'm imagining it because I really want to feel something.'

Jason lifted her t-shirt and kissed her belly, his fingers stroking it at the same time. 'Do you think it can hear me?'

Lexi shrugged, her hands now stroking through Jason's hair. 'The pregnancy magazines say that they can hear you. Why don't you speak to him? And while you're at, it you can make yourself useful and rub some cream onto my stomach,' she shuffled awkwardly off the sofa, her legs having gone to sleep where Jason's head had laid heavily on them, whilst he'd been asleep. She returned a couple of minutes later with a tube of Vitamin E cream, which she handed to him. 'It's supposed to help keep the stretch marks away and it stops my stomach itching too,' she remarked, sitting back down on the sofa and sighing deeply as she felt instantly relaxed at the touch of his hands, as he rubbed the cream gently into her stomach, murmering away to the baby.

'Hmm... no stretch marks yet.' he mused, his head to one side as he examined her carefully. 'Though if you had, I wouldn't give a shit - you'd still be beautiful to me,' he said quickly, seeing the look of consternation crossing her face in case he would hate it if she really did have them.

'Flatterer!' Lexi smiled, her fingers still running through his hair and playing with the tufts which lay enticingly on his neck.

They spent a relaxing Saturday together. In the morning they took a walk along the Serpentine in Hyde Park, stopping for lunch at the Serpentine Bar & Kitchen where Lexi enjoyed delicious sausages, mash and onion gravy whilst Jason opted for Penne Arrabbiata.

In the evening they arranged to meet up with Mark and Katrina at a local wine bar. Jason had insisted he was feeling fine and could do with a decent night out to wind down after the rehearsals. Katrina and Lexi spent the next few hours catching up with each other over fruit juices, whilst Mark and Jason drank red wine. Lexi was pleased to hear that Katrina was planning on joining Mark to see the rehearsals for the first time too the following week.

'That's great. I won't feel like a spare part if you're there too,' Lexi said, smiling broadly at Katrina.

'Oh, you wouldn't feel like that even if I wasn't there,' Katrina soothed, patting Lexi's hand. 'The lads always make you feel at home and they love a bit of constructive criticism from an outsider. Even if they whinge when you point something out that they don't agree with at first. It was my idea about the lads spinning the podiums around in the Beautiful World tour - well, not the actual spinning of the podiums. But I did say they needed to do something really impressive to get any of the audience who were still sitting after "Reach Out", onto their feet and dancing. And the spinning podiums and pole dancing during "It only takes a minute" was what they came up with!' Katrina laughed, looking pleased with herself.
