When Jason and Lexi got back to the house from dinner, Freya and Josh were still out. Luckily Josh had a spare key, so they knew they could go to bed safe in the knowledge that they wouldn't be woken up by "the dirty little stop-outs" as Jason jokingly referred to them both.

Lexi lay in bed reading the latest Freya North book as Jason had a shower, something he always liked to do after a live performance as he said the lights made him feel hot and sticky.

Lexi was engrossed in her book as Jason slid into bed next to her, his body spooning up behind hers as he dropped a kiss on her shoulder and reached around to lift the curtain of hair covering her face as she lay on her side reading.

'What are you reading?'

'Oh just this.' she showed Jason the cover of the book, blushing as she realised the title of it.

'Pillow Talk eh? Sounds a bit saucy. Maybe I ought to have a read of it,' he joked, enjoying the sight of Lexi's face flushing pink.

'It's not your kind of thing Jase. Far too high-brow for you I reckon.' Lexi shot back, knowing full well that Jason's choice of reading was a lot more heavy going. Putting the book down she turned over to look at Jason, her fingers gently stroking his face.

'You did so well tonight. I was very proud of you.'

'I did good didn't I missus?' he smiled and kissed her gently on the lips, pulling her to him for a cuddle.

'Yeah, you did. So what are you singing for the Royal Variety on Tuesday?'

'The Flood and then we eventually agreed on SOS. We can't decide between that and Kidz for our second single, we're going to sing SOS on Tuesday and then Kidz at the weekend on X Factor and see what the audience reaction to both is, then the decision will be made.'

'That's a good idea. Who's idea was that then?'

'It was Dougie's actually. Rob wanted SOS and Markie wants Kidz, it's understandable that Rob wants SOS given that his vocals are stamped all over it, but Mark thinks Kidz will be more preferable to the record buying public. In the end, Dougie got so annoyed with them arguing like two school-kids, he suggested singing one at the Royal Variety and the other on the X Factor.'

'Do you have any preference Jase?'

'Nah, I think they're both banging tunes and we could release either. I'm willing to go with Dougie's suggestion and see how it goes,' he leant over and switched the light off by the side of the bed. 'Lex, I'm knackered luv. Do you mind if I go to sleep?'

Lexi put her book down and kissed Jason affectionately. 'Night hun. Love you.' As she lay back in bed, cuddling up against Jason to draw warmth from his body, she heard the front door open and close quietly as Freya and Josh arrived back home and smiled in the darkness as she thought about them sneaking away together earlier in the evening.

Downstairs Freya and Josh shrugged off their coats. Freya went into the kitchen to make them both a hot chocolate in an attempt to warm themselves up. Josh followed her into the kitchen and watched as she set about finding Lexi's secret stash of Galaxy Hot Chocolate.

'Does Lexi know you're stealing it?' He grinned at her and raised his eyebrow.

'Yeah, she's fine with it. We drink it when Jason's away if I visit, she'd be cool if she knew we were drinking it. Want one?' she waved a mug at him, looking at him questioningly as she did so.

Josh nodded, thinking how gorgeous she looked with her windswept hair and red nose and cheeks as a result of the cold, winter night. He desperately wanted to kiss her again and wondered whether she'd mind.
