It was finally interview day. Then tomorrow was the actual Games.
They do District 1 first and District 12 last. Everyone's interviews were much the same and all ending with, "I'm gonna win."
When Mordecai went up, he was a nervous wreck.
"Hey Mordecai!" Ice King says.
"Uh, hi," he says sweating. Margaret facepalms. Her dress was green, and black with sparkles before her waist. We were talking about how much Mordecai was stuttering. We laughed.
"Tell us Mordecai, you seem to have a special bond with Mabel. How do you feel about her?"
I grin.
"She's really nice and she's a good fighter for her age. She can hit someone in the brain with one of her knives if her victim isn't moving."
Margaret looks at me. "He's right," she says.
"And Margaret," Ice King says taking an eyebrow. "Are you 2 together?"
Margaret blushes hardly.
"No, we're not."
"Oh, what a shame. You two are perfect for each other!" He says. A bell goes off and his time is over.
Mordecai comes backstage and Mordecai and Margaret just stare at each other.
"So....uh....what you said about Mabel....that was nice."
"You think so?" He asks.
"Yeah." Margaret's eyes sparkle and the birds looked each other in the eyes. It was a perfect kiss moment. They stopped staring when I went to use the bathroom.
Timmy Turner was just finishing his interview which meant I was up next.
"Next we have the amazing Mabel Pines from District 12!"
The crowd roars as I walk out.
"Take a seat," Ice King motions for me to sit.
"You look great," he says.
"Thank you so much," I say, crossing my legs and grinning.
"So, how do you feel?"
"Well, I'm nervous. That's all I'll say." I chuckle.
"How do you feel about Robbie?" He says.
I pause. I can't say I hate him. that would be wrong.
"We have a...how do I say it, history. He was mean to my brother, because he thought-" I quickly cover my mouth. I knew the group was watching at the Shack, and Dipper would be REALLY mad at me if I told the world that he loved Wendy.
"He thought that he liked my friend Wendy. When really, they're just friends." That was better.
"I see. How do you feel about your allies, Mordecai and Margaret?"
"Aw, I love them! You couldn't ask for a better ally. If we were the final 3, I would commit suicide and let one of them win." I wonder how Dipper must've felt after I said that. Was he mad or shocked?
The crowd gasps.
"You must really care about them," he says.
"I do. They mean the world to me." The crowd gives a big "AW!" after I say that.
"I see. Can you show us your outfit?" I nod and stand up.
"That's the best dress I've seen so far-no offense to any other tributes. Can you do a spin for us?"
I do my biggest twirl and the feather flies.
I hear Arisa yell from the crowd, "THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!"
Like a boomerang, the feather flies back on my strap. I get a standing ovation from the crowd and I wink at Arisa. She winks back.
The bell goes off.
"It seems our time is up. Please go back to the lobby. Good luck tomorrow!" Ice King says. I curtsy and leave the stage.
"Up next is Robbie V!" Ice King says into the mic.
After he passes me Mordecai and Margaret give me hugs.
"You would commit suicide for us?" Margaret asks.
"Well duh," I say.
I go to listen to Robbie's interview. It was basically the same thing as he asked me: how you feel about your teammate, your allies (who was Leo and April) and his outfit. His suit wasn't fancy, but it looked ok. He was told to go back to the lobby and it was just 12 hours before 23 peoples lives were at risk.
