"Margaret!" Mordecai says, tears I his eyes. "NOOO!" He lays on her dead-well, almost dead-body.
"Mordecaiiiii?" Margaret says weakly.
"Margaret..." He says, tears dripping down his face.
"Please win. For me and all the guys at the park."
"Yes Margaret," he says, words muffled. He kisses her.
"We'll let you have your alone time," say Finn as he takes the remaining 2 Careers with him.
"Margaret," I say. "I'll...I'll see you soon." I kiss her forehead.
"Goodbye..." She says.
Boom.
Mordecai and I hug each other, wondering how we'll survive without her.
I go and grab her backpack and take a water bottle. I hand it to Mordecai and grab another for myself.
"For Margaret."
He nods. "For Margaret."
We pour some on her chest, where Finn's sword stabbed through her. The blood evaporates a bit, but she's still bleeding crazily. Then we drink the remaining water in the bottles and set off.
Another cannon is heard. Who could that be?
Then another is heard.
Then another. And I know exactly who.
It's not the careers. It's the remaining 3 tributes that aren't the careers and who live in the sea-Milo, Patrick and Sandy.
Mordecai and I are the only ones left?
But then I remember.
Robbie.
I ditched him the second the games started. Maybe one if those people were him!
Even though he's a jerk, he is my teammate. And we needed an extra hand since what happened with Margaret.
"Mordecai?" I say. He looks at me.
"We need to find my teammate."
"Isn't your teammate a jerk?" Mordecai asks, arranging his backpack with Margaret's things.
"So what? We need an extra teammate! And you can trust him. He hates me, but he doesn't hate me that much to kill me."
"Ugh. Fine. But if we run into the careers, it's your fault."
I grin, and pick up m backpack and start to walk.
We haven't eaten dinner last night, so my stomach grumbles.
"Mordecai. Pass me a cheese."
He rolls his eyes and open the pack and throws me a cheese. "Thank you," I say, taking a bite of it. It's delicious. Then we hear a voice.
"HELP!" A boys voice yells. "HELP ME!" I recognize the voice right away. It belongs to the boy tribute of my show.
Robbie.
"Come on! Let's go! We have to save him!" I say, running. Mordecai isn't far behind. I can hear his voice getting closer. When we reach him, he's stuck in a net, suffering.
"Guys! I landed in a deer trap that the careers made! They went hunting to find you two! They said I was next!"
"Robbie you poor thing!" I say, cutting the net.
"Whose this giant bird?" He asks, when he gets out. I elbow his chest.
"This is my teammate."
"Why didn't you team up with a girl?" Robbie says, sitting.
"We DID have a girl," says Mordecai looking away. "She was killed."
"And she and Mordecai would've been dating her if they won."
"WHEN we won," Mordecai says, correcting me.
"I have 5 knives left," I say, holding the one I cut Robbie's net with.
"Guys," Robbie says, making us turn around.
Finn's beady eyes are staring us down. "April! Leo! We've got company!" He calls.
"Oh no," says Mordecai and Robbie in unison.
