I open the backpack quickly to find the knives to see Sandy.
"Well, lucky for me I'm mighty good with a rope," she says lassoing her rope.
"Oh look guys. Seems we're gonna have squirrel for dinner," Margaret says, pulling out her bow and arrow. Mordecai prepares his spear.
"Whoa...ok crazy critters...I was just joking!" Sandy bites her lip as she stumbles backwards. She falls.
"We'll give you 3 seconds to run," I say.
Sandy gets up on the count of one.
"Mabel! You let her go!" Mordecai says.
"She's suffering like we are. All 24-sorry, how many is left, 18? All 18 of us are suffering. Unless we're gonna get killed then lets not fight suddenly." I'm not the kind who is to kill, for I am to make peace.
A cannon goes off.
It's starting to turn evening and we prepare our sleeping bags. I stay in the tree as Mordecai and Margaret are on the ground. If one of us were to die, they said they'd risk their lives to save me.
We decide to have half of a loaf of bread for dinner. It was one of my loaves but we were going to share our loaves anyways.
We talked about our plan for tomorrow as another cannon goes off. 8 dead in the first day.
What the Capitol does is actually really cool. When a person does they show them in the sky and play 30 seconds of their theme song. That meant about 4 minutes of theme songs.
The tributes dead were:
Wander
Spike
Bea
Sanjay
Megan
Gumball
Timmy
Trixie
I knew Timmy and Trixie weren't going to survive the first day because they were weak. We smiled. 16 people left, almost half the tributes in only a day. We decided to fall asleep and pray we weren't killed yet.
