Chapter 38- Sangeet And Haldi

Sangeet ceremonies are one of those ceremonies, which are not just for people like me, I am not a dance person who will swing on the dance, but I really appreciate everyone's effort put into this, I got to hear that Vandy bhabhi and bhaiya have prepared a dance no for us and then Pushkar, Preeti couldn't because she didn't have a condition to but I would love to see my brothers' performances dedicated to us. I see Sumo coming out of her room, she looked fantastic in the pink lehenga which was having a net design of silver, just so perfect. She comes to me at first and asks, "how do I look?"

"fabulous, the best you could ever look!"

"thanks!" she blushes, Pushkar takes the mic and starts the event

"ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the sangeet ceremony of my dear brother Mr.Shravan Malhotra and my dear friend Mrs.Suman Malhotra , well as you know they're already married we can call her by that name, so mere bhaiya and bhabhi please take your seat, we all have some empowering performances for you two!"

And then the music hits and the 1st jodi comes, that was Vandy bhabhi and Varun bhaiya, they first took the song "aei kya bolti tu" followed by the title track of band baaja baarat, I never knew even bhaiya could dance so well! At the end of their performances we all applauded, it was indeed and enticing and powerful performance!

"bhaiya bhabhi aap toh cha gaye!" said Sumo

"ha! You two were amazing!" I supported.

Then I see Pushkar shaking a leg on the song "najane kaha se aaya hai" with all the other ladies who came in, Preeti just couldn't resist to join when Pushkar was on stage dancing with others, she danced a few steps, and then "darkhaast" song played up which made the mood just more romantic, and PreeKar were simply lost in their world while I look Sumo, I asked her to come on stage forwarding my hand, she comes and then we dance on the same passionately,

"it is my favourite song!" I said

"mine too!" she replied.

After this song the DJ played some rock music and shaadi songs and that time there was no looking back, everyone came to the stage and shook a leg, right from chachi-lalaji,Ma-papa to mamiji-mamaji , mausaji-mausiji , daboo and Nanu! We all had such an amazing time together, a memorable night to remember. After the ceremony we headed to our homes, Sumo gave her signing comment

"it was indeed a beautiful night, I didn't feel as if I was a bride at all! It felt as if I am a daughter of 2 homes!"

"you're Sumo, a daughter of 2 homes, and I wish that every bride should be a daughter of 2 homes, and in our case you were daughter of 2 homes since childhood!"

"aww Shravan, I duly respect this POV of yours! Now what's next tomorrow?"

"tomorrow is the wedding, which means haldi in the morning and then wedding in the evening!"

"and did you realize the clock is going to struck 12 in few minutes, it means that we're going to complete a year of togetherness!"

"not a year Sumo, but many years of togetherness, don't forget we're and were friends since so many years"

"actually you're right! We add a year to all those beautiful years we spent together!"

"yep!" I searched for a champaign bottle which I had bought a few days back, and then as the clock struck 12 I opened the bottle, "to those wonderful years of our friendship and love, Happy 1st anniversary Sumo!" she brings two glasses which was kept in the cupboard, as I pour in the champaign she says
