Elena.

My heart began to beat fast. His eyes were looking into mine. I can feel every feeling he was. His eyes were wide. I didn't stop though.

I continued preforming, my eyes staying locked with his. At first I felt like I would mess up, but I never did. I kept going, knowing the man I let go watch me.

The man who said he loved me, and ended up leaving me. He probably found someone better. Maybe that's for the best. Maybe I wasn't the one for him, but at the same time it still feels as though I am.

As we finished, the crowd cheered. My cheeks lit up as we all ran off the field. The next song began to play, and it was my solo.

I would be facing him alone.  As much as I wanted to block him out, I couldn't. I trained myself to block everything out, yet it won't work with him.

I went back on, trying to clear my mind of everything except him. My eyes stayed closed, letting only images of him fill my mind.

Although we never worked out, you'd still think we could, but I don't know anymore. We're not the same people, and I could sense that.

I could sense that he's not the guy who fell for me the first day we met each other. Not the guy who saved me from my past.

And I'm not the same girl he met, at least I think so.

The show had just finished, and I was left in the back as the guys put everything away.  I was left walking around in the dark field, as people started to leave.

We had fans sure, but none of them knew me. Some did, but not all. Not everyone knew who I was, and I didn't mind that.

I wasn't the type of person who wanted everyone to know who they were, that's probably one thing that hasn't changed about me.

My mind filled with so many thoughts, I almost wasn't able to hear someone call my name.

"Elena?"

I turned, recognizing his high, yet raspy voice.  My eyes widened, and his did the same as we took each other in.

"Shawn."

"Hey."

"Hi."

I watched him nervously as he tried taking a few steps towards me.  I stepped back nervously, knowing he sensed I was still taking him in.

"So how've you been?" He said, stopping in his tracks.

"I'm alright. What about you?" I asked.

"The same."

"Same?"

"Yeah, I guess."

He was the last to speak after that. Silence took over the both of us, leaving us with nothing. That was until he decided to speak again.

"So you can dance again?"

"Uh yeah, I got the surgery."

"T-that's great," he trailed off, looking away from me.

"Yeah," I said keeping my eyes on his facial structures.

Silence then took over again, letting me focus on everything that's changed about him. His hair was no longer straight with simple curls. It was grown out a little, curls covering his whole head.

His build was more prominent. Muscles hugging through his sweatshirt, making me remember how warm he always was. I focused on all of his features, almost too much as he looked at me once more.

His eyes met mine, causing me to shiver a little. Not just from the cold, but him as well. He still had this effect on me, and I didn't know why.

"Hey Lena! You ready to go?"

I turned back around to see one of my friends, walk towards me.

"Hey Dani," I said as she appeared right at my side.

"S-Shawn M-Men-Mendes?" She stuttered, looking back at me repeatedly.

"Uh yeah, h-hey," he said, giving a small wave.

"Wow, never thought we'd hear from you again," she said.

"What do you mean?"

"Well before Lena officially joined the team, she wouldn't stop talking about you."

"Dani," I hissed under my breath.

"What?"

I looked over to Shawn who was just looking over at me.

"It was a long time ago."

"I see."

"Well, it was nice to meet you I guess, I'll see you at the bus?"

"Actually I'm good, I'll just catch up with you guys later, I have some stuff to take care of."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure," I said, taking another small glance towards Shawn.

"Alright well be safe."

"Will do."

"Okay, bye! It was nice meeting you Shawn!" She called before running back to the bus.

I watched as she did so and then turned back to Shawn, who was smirking over at me.

"So you talked about me?"

"Shut up," I slightly laughed, causing him to smile.

I shook my head, trying to hide my smile as I walked passed him, slightly bumping into his shoulder.

I turned back seeing him just stand there looking at me.

"You coming?" I said with a small smirk on my face.

"Yeah, I'm coming."
