❀ Isabelle's POV ❀
"Do you think it'll stop? I was hoping to go to the café with (Y/n) today after the ceremony..." I murmured, only allowing the first sentence to be heard. A while after our mayor left to run some errands, the sky made an awful rumbling sound and I rushed home.
"I'm sure it will Iz," Digby walked over to the window, watching the downpour. April has its beauties, but the recurring showers just ruin it.
This storm, however, was different. The light pitter patter I'm used to was upgraded to strong, chaotic taps. It sounded like the rain would break through our rooftop at any moment.
"I need to tell lingering villagers to get inside so they'll be safe." Digby just stared at me as if I slapped him.
"Why would anyone be out in this!?"
"We have some interesting residence..."
I pulled my pink hood over my puffy ears, ready to amble in the hard rain.
"You be careful now, it's dangerous out there." My scared brother warned.
"Don't worry Digs." I slid into my rain boots and opened the door, water rapidly spilling from the sky. "I'll be back." I stepped outside, water immediately splashing under the black rubber.
I was right to come out, some villagers *cough* Stitches *cough*, were out here trying to have some hazardous fun under the light grey sky.
"I will guide you back home, and don't come back out! You could come undone." I scolded, ushering him into his cozy, safe home. I nearly shoved him inside, aggravated because I was cold. The harsh wind blew right through me, pudding the rain in any direction it desires.
"Thanks~ bye Isabelle! So... you have any ice cream? I love rainbow sherbert! It's-"
"Have a good day Stitches..."
"How about any food in general? I'm hungry." I closed the door in his orange and purple face. Happy that was over, I turned back to find anyone else who might be out here.
Drops ripple the many puddles dispersed around town. I found Merengue trying to use the rainwater in some desert recipe, she wanted to see if this would make it taste different than tap water. My boots squished in the mud, slightly sinking before I used little effort to pull myself up. Francine was trying to use the weather to help her caked on makeup come off easier, apparently her sister, Chrissy, told her that it wasn't a good idea... but her delusional sibling was set on her plan.
Eventually, I found myself back at my own home. I looked back just to make sure, staring out upon the muddy water and unending 'townwide' shower. Sometimes rainy days are nice, but it looks like nature is trapped in an uncontrollable void of emotion. I was about to go back inside before I heard a few rough splashes.
"Mayor (Y/n)...? Wha- (Y/n)?!" I decided to call out to him, the storm was getting worse, he can't stay out here.
"Isabelle? What's up?" He sounded chipper as usual.
"What do you mean what's up? Look at this weather!" Thunder roared from above, knocking the words out of our mouths. "G-g-get in here (Y/n), I can't let you stay outside."
"I'll just run back home, it'll be oka-" the sky roared once again.
"You'll catch a cold!" I pulled him inside, protesting against his argument. Relieved to finally be indoors, I removed my coat and boots, revealing my secretary uniform. I couldn't help but want some hot tea and maybe a back massage. I looked over to (Y/n), soaked and obviously uncomfortable. "I-I'll get you a towel..." I ran upstairs. I used that as an excuse to get away. What have I done?! Now he's here in my own home and because I offered, there's no escape! I slammed my head into the wall.
"Iz? A-are you *snicker* okay?" Digby giggled, eventually laughing.
"Yes, I meant to do that because I- err... I let the mayor in and-"
"WHAT!? I need to look presentable! Oh, and you have a mark on your forehead." He started frantically before chuckling at me again. I frowned and fetched a towel from the closet, the softest of the bunch. I dragged myself down the stairs to (Y/n) who, like a polite young man, stayed put and didn't snoop around.
"Here you are may- (Y/n)."
"Thanks Belle." I watched him remove his coat, a dark brown that greatly resembled his hair which was damp and flat from the rain. The fluffy mint towel was draped over his body. I kindly asked for him to remove his shoes to avoid tracking mud into our house.
"I'm going to make some tea... do you like green?" He nodded, ears pink with obvious embarrassment. I giggled unintentionally at his state, making him look away and shovel himself into the towel. I didn't think (Y/n) could be like this, but it's nice to know that he's not some emotionless alien.

"Really? I didn't think ol' Timer would be like that. He seems like such a playful old tortoise."
"That's his problem. He doesn't want to work." I sighed, "I prefer you Mayor (Y/n)..." I mumbled.
"Well that's good to hear! I thought I'd never get used to this... hey, Isabelle?" Shocked that he heard me, I became flustered.
"Y-yes (Y/n)?" He leaned closer to me, dedication in his eyes. My whole body tingled, what's he going to... maybe he- his hands went for my uniform, fixing the top button.
"It was bothering me." And just like that, an opportunity and my soul slipped away.
"Thank you..."

The storm hadn't yet died down, and I don't want (Y/n) to get into any weather trouble.
"Are you sure you want to go? You can stay, it's alright!" I reassured.
"It's okay Belle, it may not seem so, but I have a very strong immune system." When I think about it, he does. (Y/n) takes bee stings like someone had just pinched him. Last week he pulled a whale shark from the ocean! How does he work out? By wrestling bears?!
"Okay... oh! Don't forget your-" I reached for his coat and proceeded to give it back to him, slipping on a water puddle. Instantly, I toppled to the ground, not hurt on my landing. "Ow... Sorry, I'm super clumsy and..." I was staring (Y/n) right in his face, my waist gripped and our mouths extremely close. Heat traveled through my cheeks. My heart pounded, loud enough for even me to hear with these muffly ears. (Y/n) wasn't in any better condition, his pale skin had exploded a cherry red, similar to the ones growing outside.
"I-I'm so sorry Mayor!" I stood up and grabbed his coat and after he got up as well, tossed it in his arms and 'hurried' him out the door... pushed him out the door.
It was hard to breath, and the situation that'd just passed refuse to leave my mind. I hide my face in my paws, cursing myself.
"I was going to wish (Y/n) a safe trip, but you two seemed... a little busy~"
"DIGBY!"
