It's about half way through the semester, and senior year is going way better than I anticipated. Ethan and I have become really close. We spend most of days together. I would definitely say he's my best friend. We get each other, and it's easy. That's something I've never really had before. I don't see Grayson that much except for at lunch or when he's home and I'm over, but I consider him a friend nonetheless.
It finally being Friday meant that I'm spending my night tucked up with Ethan, watching movies and eating as much junk food as possible. We've done this literally every Friday since we first met, and it's easily become my favorite thing. It's our thing, even though it's simple it's special to us.
"See you tonight giggles" Ethan playfully shoves me as he walks me to my car. Giggles is the nickname he gave me after my constant laughter. He always tells me he loves my laugh, which is sweet. "It's my turn to pick the movie tonight E, so I don't want you to give me that pouting face when I tell you no to an action film" I say teasing him "my pointing face always works y/n" he winks as he makes his way across he parking lot "and don't forget the pizza" he yells, earning some unimpressed stares. I shake my head at the loud obnoxious boy running through the parking lot. I wouldn't trade him for the world.
Before I head over to Ethan's I change into a pair of leggings and a tshirt he must have left behind. It has his old school's name on it and "Dolan" was written on the back. I pack a small bag due to the fact that we stay up way too late, so sleeping over just makes sense. Sending a text that I'm on my way, I grab the rest of my things and head out the door.
-------
After knocking a few times, the door swings open.
Expecting it to be Ethan, I jump on him ruffling his hair "are you ready for some Chick flicks tonight?" I tease. "Uh hey y/n" Grayson's deep voice replies, as he sets me down "Oh my god I thought you were-" Grayson usually wasn't home during our movie nights so I wasn't expecting him at all. "It's okay, I don't mind" he shrugs and lifts his hand to the back of his neck, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "Ethan is in his room" He nods in the direction down the hall as he continues to eye me down. I turn on my heels, mentally face palming. I always make a fool of myself when Grayson is around. He intimates me. He's just so... intense.-------
A few hours have passed, and Ethan and I haven't moved from his bed once. His back is resting against his pillow, my head against his chest. My fingers absentmindedly fiddling with the fabric of his hoodie as he lightly scratches my back. This was normal for us, some would say there's something there, but really there wasn't. It wasn't ever sexual or awkward, just genuine love and friendship. Don't get me wrong, Ethan was smooth, and had no problem swooning a girl within the first impression. But we quickly found our place with one another. We needed each other, even if we only met months ago.
I can feel my eyelids getting heavier with every circle and line drawn against my skin. Trying to focus on his shapes and movements, I let them close. Right away there's a faint knock on the door, but I can't be bothered to peeled them back open to pay it any attention. "Hey bro- oh sorry I didn't mean to interrupt." I hear Grayson whisper realizing that I'm asleep. I feel Ethan's chest rise and fall as he lets out a stifled laugh "you didn't, what's up?" I smile a little to myself at their soft voices. "I'll just talk to you later" he replies, but this time his tone is different. Like he's disappointed or something. I hear the door click shut, and can't help but wonder what he wanted to talk about. He knew I was here so it couldn't have been something too serious. Before my mind could wonder any longer, everything was silent and I was fully relaxed.
