19. The Artist and the Young Vampire

Encre POV (its been to long! WE NEED MORE ENCRE!!)

I walked down the hall heading to the art studio when I saw the new vampire walking in my direction, looking lost, "Do you need help getting somewhere?" I asked, he jumped slightly. "O-oh, y-yes please. D-do you kn-know w-where the l-library is?" He asked, "Yes, I'll take you there." I said beckoning him to follow me. He followed closely at my heels, his posture told me he was rather shy. "I-if you d-don't m-mind me a-asking. W-what's a m-mortal like you d-doing in K-King Fallacy's c-castle?" He asked. He was too young for me tell him the REAL reason I was here, so i quickly made up a white lie. "I was banned from the village for my kind. I don't remember why, but Fallacy has let me live with him here at the castle since." Was what I came up with. "O-oh, I di-didn't realize the K-King took in m-mortals." He said walking beside me, "What's your name child?' I asked looking at him, "P-Plume." He answered.

We arrived at the library, Jasper sat reading a book. Wait he reads? You learn new things every day I suppose. "Plume! There you are!" Jasper chirped gliding over, "I was starting to get worried." Jasper giggled, "I-I g-got lost. S-sorry Prince J-Jasper." Plume replied. He bowed his head to Jasper respectfully. "You ready to work on your flying?" Jasper asked excitedly, Plume nodded. "Alright then! Wanna tag along Encre? I know how you love to draw things like that." Jasper asked turning to me, "I'd love to." I answered walking with the two children.

Plume POV (One of the few names that aren't nonexistant to google in this book XD)

I walked with Prince Jasper and that mortal, I think the Prince called him Encre, I wasn't sure.

We walked out to a garden, in the center was a fountain with four stone paths. One going north, one going south, and so on. Exotic flowers were scattered around the area, I could point out a few but not many. It was beautiful.

A-am I rambling? Oh sorry. I suppose someone else has already told you want the garden looks like? Yes? o-oh, I didn't know s-sorry.

Prince Jasper walked behind me, "Do you know how to at least summon your wings?" He asked placing his hand where my wings would be. I nodded, and my wings fizzled into existence. My wings looked different then Prince Jasper's, not much different. But mine had feathers rimming the bottom, that was only difference. "Your wings explains why your names Plume." Encre said looking up from his sketchbook for a minute, Prince Jasper and I both giggled. (For those who don't know, Plume means Feather in French. Thank you to whoever told me that, sorry I forgot your user name T-T I have the memory of a goldfish I swear. Anyway back to the story), Prince Jasper lifted me off the ground, I yelped in surprise. He chuckled, "Calm down,I'm not gonna drop you!" He said slowly rising higher. I started to fly on my own, after a few minutes a slowly backed away from Prince Jasper. "Look, you're getting the hang of it!" Jasper exclaimed, I looked over at Encre who was drawing away glancing us every now and then.

Prince Jasper and I flew around the garden for awhile, I stumbled every now and then, but other then that things went smoothly. After I'd landed for the day I started coughing, "Are you alright Plume?" Encre asked walking over to me, "Y-yeah." I responded.

Encre POV

Plume started coughing, I remember Fallacy telling me something about needing to get him off his feet if he started coughing. "Are you alright Plume?' I asked walking over to him, "Y-yeah." He replied with a nod, seconds later he blacked out. I quickly caught him and picked him up. "I think we worked him to hard today Jasper, he is severely injured after all." I stated looking down at the vampire, "I completely forgot he was hurt! I'm so forgetful." Jasper replied, "Let's just get him to his room for now alright?" I suggested, heading back towards the castle. The sun would reach over the trees soon so we needed to get inside anyway.

For the day the trees had blocked out the sun but we still had light, Fallacy was strategic in placing his kingdom in the forest to provide a sort of shield for his people.

Jasper nodded and flew lowly as we walked into the castle, I walked to the guest room and laid the child on the bed and pulled the covers over him, "Jasper, go fetch Suave. We might want to check on his status just in case. So nothing becomes serious he did faint after all." Jasper nodded and rushed out, a few minutes later him and Suave walked back in. Suave walked over to Plume and summoned Plume's soul with a wave of his hand. He tapped it and a yellow box appeared with writing in it that I couldn't read from m angle, he tapped the box a few times then paused and read something. "He's fine, just was overworked is all." He said with a breath of relief, thank god
