An Unexpected Love

33. Tragedy

  Jasper POV

    Suave and I sat in the library, I in his lap leaning against his chest my head nestled against his shoulder. Suave had his arms loosely wrapped around my waist, "I don't want to marry her. I love you!" I said, turning so my right side was against Suave and I cuddled closer to him, "I know, but it's for the best. Did Lord Fallacy ever tell you why you're to marry Princess Amelia?"
"No. I am not even a man who loves women. Well not in that way."
"Jasper it was to protect the kingdoms."
"What do you mean?"
"When you were young, no older than five a war broke out between the kingdoms. Fallacy tried to make a peace treaty, Queen Ange only having daughters neither of which make a strong leader made a proposal, 'Give your son to my daughter in marriage and I shall end this dispute peacefully.' Was what she wanted, Fallacy saw what damage this war was doing to the kingdom and he reluctantly agreed. He always regretted forcing you into his Jasper, he wants you to be with someone you truly love."
   I looked into Suave's eyes and cupped his cheek with my hand, I slowly straightened my back kissed him, I felt him return the kiss, slowly bringing his hand from my waist to my ribcage. I pulled back smiling at him, "I love you, Suave." I said nuzzling deep into his chest, he chuckled and stroked my head, "I love you too M'Lord."

   Amelia was to come today so I expected to have to stop showing my lover affection which bothers me but no matter it cannot be helped.

   I heard horses pull up outside and maids started scurrying around, Amelia, she walked through the door acting all prissy and pristine, I snickered knowing once we get away from the adults she'll rip off her dress to reveal pants and shirt and climb trees. We walked and talked, heading to the garden, she leaned onto my arm, "Yes Amelia?" I asked, "o-oh uh nothing." She let go of my arm and kept walking, blushing slightly. I brushed it off and we kept having a casual conversation. We sat on the bench outside in the garden, I heard rustling in the bushing, a low growl found its way into my mouth. Amelia got closer to me. Then 

BAM!!

   A net was over the two over us, Amelia attempted to scream but before she could whoever had done this put a cloth over her mouth, knocking her out. I started thrashing around, then I was knocked out.

   Esprit POV (oh hey Esprit! How ya been? XD)

  Croc, Amelia's wolf, and I sat talking while our masters were out on their own in the garden. I heard Jasper, I twitched my ears and perked up, Croc sensed it too. We both got up and started running full speed, on all fours, rushing to get to them. But by the time we got there.... It was too late. Jasper and Amelia were gone, no trace of 'em, I ran to Fallacy, "Esprit? What's wrong?" 

"Jasper *huff* and Amelia *huff* were kidnapped, Croc and *huff* I tried to save them but-"

"Do you know who took them?"

I shook my head, Fallacy sighed, "You tried, that's what matters. Besides. I think I have a pretty good clue of who took them." Fallacy said, "Eterna." Encre finished, Fallacy nodded. 

Jasper POV

   When I woke up I was on the back of a cart, Amelia passed out next to me. I pulled her closer to my chest in a protective manner. We came to an abrupt stop and I almost flew forward, someone opened the door to the cage we were trapped in. Fear shot through me as I saw her face, Eterna. The same woman who almost killed me two years ago. Here, again. 'I'm gonna die...' I thought climbing out, carrying the unconscious princess in my arms as walked, my head down. 

   They lead me to the dungeons where they pushed me inside and locked me and Amelia. 

Plume POV

   Everyone was freaking out, Cerf seemed uneasy, and I was extremely confused as I sat in the lobby reading a book, I sat there quietly acting like I was reading while listening in on the conversation, "This is your fault Fallacy! You should have had someone watching them! THEY ARE ROYALTY!!" Queen Ange fumed, "Don't speak to my husband that way! You're just as guilty! If you wanted them to be protected you should have made Amelia's wolf stay with her!!" Encre shot back, "Like I'm listening to a measly Mortal!" Queen Ange retorted pushing Encre away by his forehead, "Ange, I understand you're worried about your eldest daughter but do not take it out on my, it is as much your fault as it is mine. Now, Jasper, Encre, and myself have all been to Towntale, I know where they're keeping him. But before we devise a plan YOU need to calm down. And watch your mouth, both of our children are in the room." Fallacy replied, his voice dropped an octave as he said, "And if you ever speak to my wife like that again I will attack you, truce or not, verbally assaulting a queen is not very royal now is it?" Fallacy said I felt scared myself at how dark his voice was. I looked up to see Queen Ange shaking slightly as she nodded meekly, "Good."
