28. Arranged Marriages

Jasper POV

I woke up this morning feeling nervous. 'I meet her today' I thought.

I took a deep breath and crawled out of bed, I changed into my normal clothing. I walked out my room towards the dining hall.

"Good morning Jasper." Father said, "Are you ready to meet your fiancee?" He continued. I nodded, but I lied, I was far beyond nervous, 'What if she doesn't like me? What if I don't like her? What if Fathers judgment what wrong?' Questions raced through my Mind as I ate my breakfast.

Plume came in not long after I did, his guardian close at his heels. He sat down and ate with us, Cerf curled up around his ankles. "Plume, we will by heading to the next vampire kingdom over today. Its not a long ride but I want you to bring Cerf with you." Father more of demanded then stated. I wondered where Esprit, my guardian, was. I hadn't seen him in awhile. I sighed and walked out of the dining hall, heading through the corridors, I was met by Esprit who seemed to be running from something. "Esprit, what did you do?" I asked, "I dyed Suaves hat blue." He said with a giggle. I face palmed.

Suave ran through the hall and threw his hat into Esprit's face. I giggled and Esprit growled and got in an attack position, "Esprit, down." I demanded before he could hurt my butler, he growled lowly before turning around and walking behind me pacing around my ankle.

Plume walked out of the dining hall and stood next to me looking rather tired, "Are you alright Plume?" I asked as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, "I'm j-just tired. I had a d-d-dream about M-Mother and Father last night and didnt g-go back to sleep a-a-after that, I was to busy c-crying to." Pluem said and yawned, tears prickig he corners of his Eyes.

Father came out not long after, "Are you both ready to go?" He asked, we both nodded. Muffin came down the hall,"Are we set to leave?" Father asked him. Muffin nodded, a small wolf came up and clung to Muffins leg, "Do you have to go Papa?" He Asked. Muffin sighed and bent down in front of the small wolf, petting his head as he said, "Yes Cerise. Dont worry, I'll be back by tonight. But now I have tto escort the King and Princes to the Valley Kingdom." He kissed 'Cerise's' head as he scratches behind whom I could only assume was his sons ears. Cerise nodded and whimpered.

We arrived at the our destination. I took a deep breath and got out of the carriage after Fatehr, Plume following me with Cerf.

We walked up the front steps, greeted by the butler. "Oh, Lord Fallacy, Prince Jasper, Prince Plume." He said, Plume had surprised look for a second then shook it off. I giggled quietly. "Is Queen Ange here?" Father asked, "Yes, she's in her study. Please follow me. Prince Jasper, Prince Plume another servemt should be here in just a few minutes to escort you to Princess Amelia and Princess Toria." He replied/stated. I nodded, and Pluem shrunk behind me along with Cerf. Father and I chuckled at their shyness.

Like the butler said a young wolf came up to us, "Amelia and Toria are this way." He said to us turning around

We walked behind the wolf, "Are you Amelia's wolf?" I asked, he looked around my age and I knew Amelia was the same age as me, though its sometimes difficult to tell wolves age because they mature from a newborn to a toddler in just a few weeks. "Yes, Amelia and I have been paired as long as I can remember." He said, "Oh, mg names Croc by the way." He said turning around for a moment then turning hsi back to us once again just as quickly.

We walked to large room, two girls in formal clothing sat in the center tallig. One was beautiful skeletal girl in a pearl blue dress and strange eyes (as if I'm own to talk) and the other was human, with a red curly bob and a magenta colored gown on. 'They must be Amelia and Toria' I thought. The skeleton turned to me, her fangs poking out from her top lip a bit. "Oh, you must be Prince Jasper." She stated looking me straight in the eyes, I nodded. "I'm Amelia and his is my younger sister Toria." She said gesturing to he other as she did so. "This is my adoptive brother Plume and his guardian Cerf." I said gesturing to Pluem and Cerf who were both trying to disappear behind me.

Plume waved a bit. I dragged him over and sat with the two girls, Cerf curled into Plumes lap, shaking a bit. They're so shy. Toria made a small speak as a hello.
So she's shy as well.
"Please excuse her she's not a social child."
"I could say the same about those two." I pointed to Plume and Cerf, Cerf curled up like a dog and Plume using his fur covered ribs as a pillow.

The two of us started talking and talking about really anything. Until

More coughing
Wheezing

I whipped my head towards Pluem to see h in frenzy of wheezing and coughing. I rushed over and placed my hand over his soul, activating my magic.
Father thought me how to do this a few weeks ago since he's not near Plume as much as I am.

A warm green glos surrounded my hand and Plume's breathing evened, his coughing leaving but replaced my panting. "T-thank y-y-you Prince J-Jasper.."
"How many times have I told you to just call me Jasper?"
"S-sorry h-habit."

The three of us kept talking, Plume's stutter worse then normal. Understandable. After three or four hours Father came back. "We should be heading home Jasper, Plume. Encre will be getting Worried." He said. I nodded stood up, Plume work up Cerf whose was sleeping peacefully curled up agaisnr Plume. We walked to the carriage and went home
