I was surprised when Luciano didn't do anything about my phone at first.

He probably figured that I would have escaped and taken my sister if I had wanted to already, and I had specifically said I wanted to keep my deal.

There was also the fact I still wasn't sure where we even were.

It was a few days before he even said anything about it. He asked if he could take it for now, but that he would give it back once he was sure I wouldn't try to escape. If I wanted, I could even ask to use it with him there.

I was talking to more people now. I felt a little better after my outburst, but not enough to join in again and do things like normal.

I still took my meals in my room, and didn't really leave unless I was going to the library.

I wouldn't send people away if they came into my room like I had before. Other than Allen and Matt, that is. Although, they hadn't tried to talk to me since then, so I hadn't had the chance to.

My problems sleeping persisted. Sometimes Haydn could be persuaded into coming in and sleeping with me, but usually she wouldn't.

She was pretty adamant on her views of personal space, which meant she was uncomfortable if she didn't sleep alone. I only asked her to on really bad nights since I knew this.

I knew Luciano and Zao would come sleep with me to help, but I felt so bad about being a bother to them. I knew they both had to work at night sometimes, so I didn't want to get in the way of that.

I ended up trying one night anyways, after attempting to sleep all day, only to end up waking up from the dreams every hour or so.

Zao was in his room when I snuck up there that night. He wasn't sleeping, but he was hunched over a desk, twirling a pen in his fingers with a bored look on his face. He noticed the open door right away.

“Hey, are you alright?” he asked, placing the pen down on a stack of papers and getting up to face me.

“Yeah, yeah, I'm fine,” I replied quickly. “What's all that? Something for a job?”

“Yeah,” he sighed. “Paperwork is a pain in the ass, but Kuro did it last time so now I have to. I need to get this all done before we leave.”

“So you're going out on a job tonight?” I cocked my head. “You aren't going to be gone as long as last time, right?”

He grinned. “Aw, gonna miss me? I'll be back tomorrow, don't worry. This isn't that big of a job. Still has a lot of damned paperwork though…”

I laughed lightly. “I’ll let you work on it then. You're gonna need all the time you can get.”

“Didn't you need something?” he asked.

“Nah, it wasn't anything important,” I waved him off. “You're busy, so it can wait.”

He seemed to know I was lying, but nodded reluctantly. “I'll come see you when I get back, okay? I'm sorry I don't have more time…”

“It's okay,” I shook my head with a smile. “You have to work, it's a part of life. Good luck on your job. Be careful.”

“I will,” he nodded with a smile as I moved to leave the room.

I didn't bother to go ask Luciano. Chances were, if Zao was busy, he would have ten times the amount of work to do.

Instead I reluctantly headed back to my own room, turning on the tv since I had given up on sleeping for now.

As the nightmares got worse, I felt myself getting closer and closer to my breaking point. I wouldn't be able to take this much longer, but I had no idea what to do.
