Be Serious: Zao~

I shifted with a yawn, wanting to fall back asleep even though it was most likely late into the morning.

“This makes it kinda hard to do anything, you know,” Zao was chuckling. “Are you gonna get up anytime soon?”

“No…” I mumbled, snuggling into his shirt further.

This had become a common occurrence between the two of us. He had begun sneaking into my bed much more often since Haydn had left. I wasn’t complaining. It was actually kind of nice to have him there for the comfort. Not only did I really miss her, but I still had nightmares on occasion. I had been sleeping much easier, so it became a habit. Recently, I had been staying in his room as well instead of him always coming to me.

Currently, I was practically sprawled on top of him. My arms were wrapped around his torso, with my head laying on his stomach, and my legs were in between his. I had woken up in this position, despite not going to sleep directly on top of him, but was too comfy to move.

“You know I have the perfect opportunity to grab your ass, right?” he asked, moving his hand slowly down my back for emphasis.

“You do it anyways, it's nothing new,” I yawned once more.

“You just basically gave me permission,” I could tell he was smirking, but he didn't move his hand any further down than my low back.

I decided I had kept him here long enough, and rolled off of him onto my side, using my hands as a pillow.

“Are you really going back to sleep?” he sighed, leaning over me.

“Maybe,” I gave a small grin.

“What if I keep you up?” he wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Then I guess you keep me up,” I shrugged.

“Not gonna try and push me away?” he questioned, and from the tone of his voice, it sounded like he wasn't sure if I was serious or not.

“Find out,” I smirked, glancing up at him.

“Ohh, teasing me now?” he cocked an eyebrow with a grin. “Are you sure that's a good idea?”

He flipped me so I was on my back when I didn't answer, only a mischievous smile on my face. His hands were placed on my waist, on the bare skin that was exposed from all the flipping around on the bed I had just done.

“What are you gonna do?” I finally taunted.

He looked surprised that I was challenging him like this, but also that he was welcoming it, happy to maybe get a pass at me.

Before he could respond, however, I sat up to get off of the bed.

“Just kidding,” I said in a sing song voice.

“Oh no you don't!” he pulled me back into his lap by my arm, whispering the next sentence into my ear. “You can't escape me that easily.”

I went to respond, but his lips were on mine before I could. My hand went to his cheek before sliding back into his hair.

Memories came flooding back. Of the first time we had met, when I ran right into him and he had asked if he could keep me.

Of him trying to entertain both me and himself while we were scouting out the teacher's lounge.

Of his lips coming painstakingly close when he had decided to share his opium and tease me.

And of him watching in amusement as I tried to push him off my bed the first time he had slept with me, along with so many more.

I moved without breaking the kiss, sitting up properly so that I could try and push him back onto the bed. He leaned back on one hand, but wouldn't budge from there. Until he flipped the both of us around so I was pinned under him, that is.

When we had to pull away for air, he began littering my neck with kisses and love bites. I held him close, trying to press every part of my body against his. One of his hands grabbed my backside before sliding his fingers down the back of my thigh so he could pull my leg around his waist.

As his other hand attempted to slip under my shirt, the door suddenly opened. Kuro was standing in the doorway, a large smirk on his face.

“I see I'm interrupting,” he commented when the two of us turned to him.

I didn't know what to say when Kuro hit the lock before shutting the door behind him.

When Zao turned back to me, our eyes met and all we could do was laugh at what had just happened.

“I'll bet he needed something,” I managed to get out through the giggling. “You should probably see what it was.”

“You're more important,” his hand was on my cheek.

I smiled, placing a quick kiss on his lips. “I'm always gonna be here, though.”

“So if I go,” he mused, grinning. “Then we can continue this later?”

I laughed lightly. “Of course.”

He kissed my forehead before getting off of me.

“I love you...you know that right?” I managed to muster up the courage to actually say it, glancing away with flushed cheeks.

He turned back, looking surprised that I had said it. At first I thought he would shut me down, say this was just a hookup or whatever, until I watched the grin break out on his face.

He practically ran back and tackled me back down onto the bed.

“Jesus!” I exclaimed. “Zao, what the hell?”

His arms pulled me into his chest.

“I never thought you'd say it,” he breathed, his fingers tangled in my hair. “You're never straightforward with me.”

“I am!” I protested, muttering the last part. “Sometimes…”

He chuckled. “Hardly ever.”

I rolled my eyes as he pulled away, moving his hands to the side of my face. “I love you too.”

I smiled, pulling him in for another kiss.

“Screw Kuro,” he said after we separated. “I'm spending the rest of the day with you.”

“I'd rather not screw Kuro, thanks,” I smirked.

He laughed lightly before turning serious. “The only one who can screw you is me.”

“So needy,” I jokingly rolled my eyes. “It wasn't like I was planning on screwing other guys.”

“Good,” he pulled his tank top over his head, tossing it onto the floor behind him. “Now where were we?”

“You were trying to grope me again,” I decided to be a smart ass.

He rolled his eyes at me, but I didn't miss his grin. “Don't act like you don't want me to.”

“I suppose I don't mind it,” I shrugged.

“No more talking,” he shut me up with his own lips.

I wanted to laugh as I kissed him back, letting him pick up where he had left off when Kuro had interrupted.

Later that night, I was lying on the couch in the living room with my feet across Zao’s lap as we waited for dinner to be done. Currently it was just us down here, other than Lutz and Gillen, who were in the kitchen.

Until Kuro came in.

He took one look at us, a grin spreading across his face. “Next time you might want to lock the door.”

I rolled my eyes at him as Zao flipped him off. Kuro only chuckled and went into the kitchen.

"At least that will keep the other guys away from you," he grinned down at me.

I laughed. "I guess so. But it's not like any of them could change my mind, ya know? I love you, not them. Not in that way, at least."

"I hope everyone heard that," he tackled me into a hug, causing me to laugh once more.
