" here" jake said as he threw a twenty dollar bill at me.
"Thanks" usually jake doesn't keep up with his bets.
"So are you off now" I asked very curiously. The falls was a place me and jake had gone since we were kids. It was a small cabin in the woods which lead out to a lake. You had to boat for about half an hour to get there.
"Yup, I don't work all weekend. So are we staying up there or do you wanna head back tonight" I usually like staying up there but last time wasn't so pleasant. I kept hearing screaming in the middle of the night. Jake thought I was just paranoid, but there was something off about the whole thing.
"Hello" jake said waving his hand in front of my face "earth to Tyler"
"Oh ya, well it's up to you I kinda wanna be back before tomorrow"
"What's tomorrow" of course he forgot like always.
"I have that job interview"
"Ohhhhh right, why don't you just work here with me they offered you the job"
" I don't wanna be known as the kid who gets handed the job"
"That's the best way to get a job bro" jake said shaking his head at my comment.
"Ok well I wanna stop by the house before we head out"
"Ok but what time is it anyways"
" 12:30" I said looking down at my Rolex watch I had saved up for from my last job.
"Well we better get there soon if we wanna head out to the falls"
Jake grabbed his bag on his back which held his work clothes and some money.
As we headed to his 1978 Chevy he tossed me the keys.
"Bought time you use that drivers license right?" He said with a little smirk. God sometimes he's like a free to me. A smile was brought to my face as I started the engine.

As we headed down grove street, I watched all the kids with there family. Them playing out side. All the love between them, you could see it. I always wondered why my parents put me up for adoption. My mom never talked about them, or what they looked like. She never even gave me a name.
" eyes on the road buddy" that brought me back from my daze.
"Sorry jake it's just I get lost in my thoughts way more then I should"
Jake looked over at me he had green eyes and a strong build he was around 6"2 and always wore plaid. That was always a mystery to me.
" let me guess" jake rose one eye brow as he turned to the road. "It's about them?"  He always always always knew what was bothering me.
"Ya, I just don't understand how I was such a disappointment at such a young age " jake looked over at me with a confused look.
" what are you talking about"
"There has to be some reason they couldn't keep me, right?"
"Look Tyler a lot of kids are adopted it's natural, maybe they couldn't afford you, or maybe they thought you'd be better off, or maybe there secret agents who didn't want you in a dangerous environment" he started to laugh and I couldn't help but join in. As we turned in the drive way, tears were starting to come from my eyes due to how hard I had been laughing.
"I'll be right out" I said to jake as I opened the door and ran inside to grab the bags I had packed.
" where are you to going" I turned around to see my mom Jamey.
"Me and jake are headed up to the falls"
"Ok we'll be carful" she said as she Walked over to me and gave me a shake on my head.
"We will" I said as I opened the door and walked toward the truck.
"Got everything" jake asked from the passenger seat.
" I'd say so"  I threw the bags in the back and hopped in. The gravel cracking as I backed out of the driveway. Heading down to the cabin I had grown up in , and were off.

Really hope you liked it. Kinda hard writing with school but I find a way. It's short I know but I'm not good at the details but I'm working at it! Hopefully I'll have chapter four up bye tomorrow!
