Warning: swearing. especially towards the end. Also, I complain a lot in this chapter and I'll try not to insult anyone and if I do I'm like 90% sorry.
Okay it's that time of year again,
Spring aka the time where everyone complains about their allergies
Now, if you think this is going to a normal "Oh I sneeze a bunch during the spring so I complain about allergies even though I never get tested or take medications or actually do anything except complain or sneeze" type rant YOU'D BE WRONG. This is going to be me explaining my airborne allergies and when I'm done you'll understand why I freaking despise spring.
Okay so first off my airborne allergies (I say airborne because I'm one of the "lucky" few with both airborne and food allergies) are Dog (dandruff), cat (saliva), dust mites (little bug things that are everywhere), grass (multiple types, I don't know them all), ash tree pollen, walnut tree pollen (not walnuts themselves though) and FUCKING COTTENWOOD. *Ahem*
See, if you look at that list you'll see I have a lovely variety of allergies. Tree pollens which are dominant in the spring, grasses which are dominant in the summer and animals which are all year round. SO WHERE YOU ALL ARE HAVING ALLERGIES IN THE SPRING. I'M SNEEZING ALL YEAR ROUND.
Like, last year for some reason I was very allergic to my science classroom and we could not figure out why. So almost every time I went to my science class I would have to LEAVE THE FUCKING CLASSROOM cause I was sneezing so hard and I had to wash my face.
Now you may be asking "hey, Zilro, why don't you do something about these allergies since they suck so bad?" to which I would respond "this was after I did something about it"
I was diagnosed with my airborne allergies when I was 6 and 8. When I was second grade I started immunotherapy aka allergy shots. For those of you going "ahhh I hate shots" so did I until I had to start getting them every week. Later it was once a month but whenever my dosage changed (usually once a year) I had to go back to every week for a month or two. I stopped those right before 6th grade. Pretty soon after that I started taking one Zyrtec a day (antihistamine medicine, 10mg).
However, that wasn't enough so at the end of last school year I went to talk to my mom about possibly upping my dosage. She talked to my allergist and a little while later I'm taking 20mg of Zyrtec a day instead of 10. However, THAT WASN'T ENOUGH. So a little while later my mom called my allergist again and he prescribed a over the counter allergist medication (also 10mg but of a different types of antihistamines) and so far that's been doing great. I've really been loving the not sneezing all the time or getting hives when I rolled in grass.
Now you may be wondering, "hey Zilro, I thought you were complaining about stuff. If you're all happy now what are you complaining about?"
TO THAT I RESPOND FUCK COTTENWOOD.
One thing I've found is that my cottonwood allergy. For the past few weeks there has been cottonwood everywhere. I've mostly stayed inside (cause I'm an introvert with no life) and such and I've been more or less fine. Well today I started sneezing a bunch again, not just a one time got dust up your nose cause you thought it'd be a good idea to breathe in deeply through your nose when you were in a dusty closet type sneeze. No, it was a full blown, sneezing a bunch cause allergies fucking suck type sneezing. And then that got me thinking and I realized I've been very sniffly lately. And I don't sneeze when I have a cold (no idea why I just don't). SO AFTER ALL OF THAT SHIT I'M STILL SNEEZING AND I AM SO FUCKING DONE.
This has been Zilro's Rants: Allergies Pt. 1. Thank you for joining us today. Tune in next time for Zilro's Rants: Allergies Pt. 2 when I talk about how much food allergies suck.
