When I Escaped

Chapter 22

The feeling when I first jumped on the cliff with Travis was just the same, the only difference is he wasn't there to hold my hand.

Bumagsak ako sa nagagalit na dagat, walang tunog na lumabas nang sumigaw ako dahil sa sakit na naramdaman ko nang nauntog ang kaliwang paa ko sa bato.

Blood pooled on top me. I tried to swim upwards but my foot wouldn't cooperate. I tried grabbing in the rocks but the wave is too strong.

I was drowning, slowly. I felt salt water going through my nose, filling my lungs and all I did was close my eyes and think.

Sabi nga nila kapag malapit ka na raw mamamatay lahat ng magagandang nangyari sa buhay mo mag faflashback.

Napakaraming alaala ang naglakbay sa isip ko.

"Julie, are you ready for school?"
I can clearly hear the voice of my father and it makes me so happy.

"Ayaw!"

"Bilhan kita ng ice cream kung papasok ka."

"Okay, pa" I jumped with joy.

The scene changed the time mom and I went to the movies together.

"Julie, I will never forget this."

"I love you, ma" I can hear my voice speaking to her.

Lastly, Travis. Every single day that I'm with him, I did not know I was falling.

Back at his birthday, he whispered. "Julie, I like you."
I pretended not to hear that but the moment he disappeared from my sight, I whispered back.
"I like you too."

Naramdaman na may humawak sa aking kamay at nakita ko si Travis. Dinala niya ako sa ibabaw, I had a blurry vision, he kissed me then I could breathe again but my throat still burns.

"Trav! You came back!" Then I passed out.

Hindi ako makahinga at napapawisan na ako. Binuksan ko mga mata ko at nakita ko si Connor na natutulog sa silya.

"Asan si Trav?" the first thing that came out of my mouth.

Parang hindi nagising si Connor, e.

I shifted my body so I can sit but my left leg hurts so much. Inalis ko ang kumot and I cried. Ang kaliwang paa ko ay may malaking sugat.

"Connor" tawag ko at nagising siya.

"I'm sorry, Jul. I did this to you but first you need to call your mom. You've been asleep for 2 days already."

Bakit maraming malas na dumadating sa buhay ko? Wala naman akong malaking kasalanan na ginawa, jusko.

I was suddenly angered by everything that happened. "Asan si Travis!?"

Huminahon siya. "You're hallucinating."

"This is all your fault!" tinuro ko siya. "Look at me, hindi ako makalakad! Ano naman ba ang sasabihin ko kay mama!? Ha?"

He clenched his jaw. "Give me your phone."

"At ano? Iraransom mo ako?" I glared at him.

Tinitigan niya ako na parang gusto niya akong ihagis at sisipain. "Just give me your damn phone."

"Hello, Ms. Brooke this is Connor. We have a field trip in Palawan for a week and Julie is my partner. I promise to take care of her."

Hindi ko marinig kung anong sabi ni mama.
