When I Escaped

Chapter 23

He is carrying me to the living room and did I mention, ang bango bango niya. Parang lahat ng downy inihalo at ginamit sa T-shirt niya.

"Okay stop, put me here." I commanded. Pwede na pala akong maging prinsesa nito, e.

"Parang kang papel kapag binuhat." humalahakhak siya. "What else do you want?"

"Turn on the t.v" sabi ko sa boses na parang boss.

He arched his eyebrows. "The remote is just beside you, amore."

"Oh!" I exclaimed na parang prinsesa. I gently pick up the remote like a princess.

He chuckled. "I like you, you're crazy."

Inirapan ko siya and mimicked what he said in a crazy voice. "I like you, you're crazy."

Tumawa lang siya. "It's 3 am, amore. Hindi ka ba papahinga?"

"I'm the boss here." taray kong sabi.

I really wanted to make fun of him kasi kahit anong sabihin ko hindi siya napipikon.

I watched cartoons and he just sat beside me na parang aso at ako yung amo niya.

"This house is so big, I always wondered if there are ghosts." he started. "Hindi ka ba natatakot?"

My eyes are still fixed on the tv and words just came out of my mouth without thinking. "You're here"

"I'm not Travis" he blurted out. I turned towards him, shocked.
"But I'll be better than him."

"At football" he added.

The fact that Connor is supposed to be my enemy seems fabricated.
For me, he is sweet and caring. I don't know if I'm beginning to be comfortable with him or I just miss having a companion.

"Basta hindi ako natatakot." I assured.

"Te amo, amore" his voice is gentle pero hindi ko naman naiintindihan ang sinasabi niya.

"Ano ibig sabihin nun?"

He is silent for a second. "Ah.. umm.. It means do you want to eat?"

"Ganon lang? E, bakit ang haba kung tatranslate sa english?"

He just shrugged. "I'll just get something upstairs."

"Wait! Wag mo akong pabayaan dito."

"Madali lang ako."

"Sama ako, please." makaawa ko sa kanya.

"Sabi mo hindi ka natatakot"  Tinalikuran lang ako ng mokong at umakyat na siya sa itaas.

Bwesit kapag makikita ko rito si Valak o hindi kaya si Chuckie, ewan ko nalang kung kakayanin ko pang mabuhay.

"Hoy engot! Lagot ka sa akin!"

Ilang minuto na wala pa rin si Connor.

I changed the channel but it began to blur, every channel has no signal.

My heart began to pound.

In the corner of my eye, I saw a girl, nakaputi at mahaba ang buhok. Bumababa siya sa hagdan.

The lights went out.

"Putangina naman, oh!" I cursed. "Connor!" tawag ko.

She turned towards me. I can't see her face but I can tell she's so pale.
