I woke up with a small headache and fur pressed up against my back. I rolled over to find my brother lying on the bed still in his wolf form. He was curled around me, almost as if he was protecting me. I smiled at him.

Last night came back to me all at once. I wondered what time it was and when people would start showing up with guns and demand we leave. I knew it couldn't be long now. My brother's kind wasn't welcomed here. They were hated by all that were called human. I was not among those people anymore. I love my brother too much to give up on him that quickly. I would look past his new lifestyle and to the brother I knew lived inside of him. If people couldn't do that, they were heartless.

I heard a knock on the door and knew it was all about to start. I nudged my brother away and he changed back into his human form. I turned my eyes away from him as he grabbed some clothes to hide his nakedness. He had been completely naked when he changed back, something I didn't know would happen with werewolves. I would have to keep that in mind. I still found myself blushing though and my brother smirked at me. I swatted him and laughed.

Another knock sounded and my brother groaned. "I can't believe I did that last night. I don't really know what happened. I saw him about to hit you and my wolf just took over. I was changed and growling at the man before I could even think for myself. My instincts just got the better of me." My brother hid his face and hung his head. I move around the bed and hug him.

"I love you. We'll get through this. We can handle anything they throw at us." I say, trying to be strong. These next few hours would change our lives; for better or for worse.

"Open up, it's the sheriff." A voice called through the door.

"I'm coming." I called, trying to be cheerful, though I knew what awaited us on the other side of that door.

It was my fault my brother was a wolf. I had to get us out of this situation if only to save my brother's pride. He had sacrificed himself to save her and ended up getting bitten. She felt tears come as she thought about it, but pushed them back and opened the door with a fake smile.

"Can I help you?" the sheriff nudged me aside and entered the house. My brother steadied me on my feet before turning angrily to the man looking around our house.

"What do you want?" he snapped at the man. The sheriff turned to face us.

"There you are sonny, I didn't see you there hiding behind the young lady." That made my brother growl and I held him back by pressing my back harder against his chest and taking his hand.

"Don't talk to my brother like that. He was not hiding. He caught me when you so rudely pushed past me. Do you have a right to be in our house?" I asked him, furious for what he just claimed my brother was; a coward, something my brother was not.

"Sorry about that miss, but I do have the right to be in here. The lady that owns this house has asked me if I would escort you of the property. She says you may no longer live under her roof as the monster you are. She said the young lady may stay, but you sir, have to leave." He says, motioning to the door.

"I'll pack my bags." My brother says, moving toward our bedroom door. That was one bad thing about this house, it only had one bedroom and my brother and I had to share it.

The sheriff fingered his gun as my brother passed him and moved closer to me. I rolled my eyes and began to start packing my bags also.

"What are you doing miss?" the sheriff asked me. He looked at me like I was crazy. I glared at him.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" I spit at him angrily. He looks taken aback with my attitude. Did he not think I would be mad that he was throwing me and my brother out?
