I looked over at Anthony as he raced at me once again. I had made him yelp once when I kicked him in the mouth. Other than that, I hadn't gotten a good hit, kick, or punch in. This wolf was too fast for me. I had a busted lip, a couple bruises and a lot of scratches and cuts along my arms and legs. My sweatshirt was basically ruined and barely covering me anymore. My sweats were almost shorts now and I was shivering from the cold and blood loss. Anthony was playing with me and I knew it. No one had stepped in to help me. I looked around, almost begging them with my eyes, but no one would.

I called out to someone with my mind, too weak to talk and found myself asking where Garret was. Why wasn't he here to save me? He was supposed to be my mate, yet he left me here to die.

I was about to pass out when I heard a ferocious growl and then someone was standing over me. I was lying on the ground with my eyes closed, not enough strength to even open them to see my savior. I thought I knew who it was, but I couldn't be sure.

I heard someone whimpering and then silence. A growl filled the air and then a couple barks. I heard some chairs move as people stood. "Garret, please, I'm sorry. Don't do this to me." Someone said. It sounded like Anthony, but I was fading in and out.

"I'm here now." I heard Garret's voice. I smiled. He had come for me. I knew he wouldn't let me die. I was so tired. I only hoped that I could feel better when I woke up.

I felt myself being picked up into someone's arms as they carried me toward the entrance I believed. "I can't believe you, Reese, why did you let this happen?" Garret growled.

"She called you a monster and Anthony called forth a challenge. She didn't back down, so therefore she accepted. I could not interfere, no matter who it is. If that was you, you would have killed me for interrupting, I had to give the girl a chance." A voice rang out, but it didn't sound like the guy from earlier. I tried to open my eyes, but I ended up passing out from trying so hard.

I woke up with no pain. I was surprised. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was lying on a bed of furs in a strange tent. It wasn't Garret's, for that I was sure. I looked around and saw the doctor that had changed my bandages the other day.

"Hello." He said. I nodded at him before looking down at my body. My clothes had been changed and I felt no pain. My lip wasn't bleeding, my arms and legs didn't hurt and I had no bruises or scratches. I looked at him in astonishment. He smiled at me.

"What happened to me? How am I better?" I asked.

"I bit you." Garret said as he entered the tent. I looked up at him, wearing no shirt and letting his muscles be seen clearly.

"What do you mean you bit me?" I asked him as I searched my skin for a bite mark. I found none and was confused once more.

"My venom does three things. One it heals. Two it kills by poisoning people. Three it turns you into a werewolf like me. I can also mark you so no one will try to take you from me. It's a sign of ownership." He explained as he sat down next to me.

"So you healed me?" I asked, making sure I was hearing right. Garret nodded patiently.

"Yes, I did. I'm sorry about last night. If only I had been there." Garret shook his head sadly. I didn't know what to do so I patted him awkwardly on the back.

Without warning Garret pulled me into his lap and kissed me roughly. It was so unexpected that I opened my mouth and his tongue entered. He tasted every inch of my mouth and I found myself wanting to kiss him back. He sought a reaction from me so he ran his fingers threw my hair and put my hands on his head.

I ran my fingers through his hair and kissed him back. It was like nothing I had ever experienced. It was like a thousand fireworks exploding in my mouth. IT was unbelievable. I let Garret kiss down my jaw and to my neck. He sucked on my neck. I knew it would leave a mark, yet I did nothing to stop him.
