A Tainted Love

Chapter Four

I woke up feeling tired and sore. I look around and noticed I wasn't in the woods anymore. I gasped as I saw a strange man looking at me tiredly. "Good, you're awake. Garret will be most pleased to know you are all right." He said. I stared at him before screaming.

The screaming hurt my head and I knew it had to hurt his ears, especially if he's a werewolf. I scrambled away from him and it's then I noticed I'm in only my bra and underwear. I screamed again, this time louder and shriller. I hit the back of wherever I am and realized it's a tent.

I listened and heard my brother's voice outside somewhere. "Hannah! Are you ok? Hannah?" I smiled, knowing my brother's ok before I noticed the man coming near me.

"Calm down, I'm Dr. Torrance. I won't hurt you." He said. "I'm the one that put the bandages on you, please calm down miss." He tries to reassure me, but I can't help but fear for my life.

"Brett! Help me." I screamed, clawing at the man and pulling some kind of blanket over me, trying to cover my partial nakedness.

"Let me go," Brett yelled. I tried to pick up the back of tent and succeeded. I rolled out and hugged the fur blanket to me, trying to block out the cold. Standing up made me dizzy, and I grabbed my head. I looked around and noticed my brother being held by the arms of two strong looking men. One, I recognized as the wolf that had changed in front of me before attacking me.

"Brett." I screamed. He turned and looked at me before clawing at the men's arms. He get's free from one man, the one that changed for me, but gets held back by the other.

"Hannah, run." He commanded. I looked at the woods near me before looking back at him. Where was the strange black wolf that was with me last night before he hurled me into that tree? Was he watching me, waiting for me to try to escape so he could eat me? I didn't know, but I knew I couldn't' leave my brother.

"I'm not leaving you." I said, planting my feet, and looking back at my brother.

"Look behind you!" he screamed. I felt breath hit the back of my neck and then my hair moved. I gulped and turned around. I gasped and accidentally dropped the blanket. The wolf growls before moving in front of me to block the view of my almost naked body from the men gawking at me. The cold wind was nipping at my bandages and making me shiver. I instinctively moved toward the warmth of the black wolf. Then I realized what I was doing and jerk away. The wolf makes a sound in his throat before moving back over to him with his tail.

I screamed and tried to get away. I didn't want him to eat me, though I missed his warmth immediately. The wolf ran after me and stopped me by stepping in front of me. I found myself running into him and sprawling out on his back. I heard Brett yelling something at me, but didn't pay attention to him.

I turned to look the wolf in the eye. Instead of hunger I saw his eyes filled with tenderness. He looked at me like a lover, it made my blood freeze. What did this wolf think I was to him? I tried to get off his back, but he moved, making me grab onto him and hold on.

He stopped and turned, making sure I was on before running back around to the front of the tent and into the open flap. The doctor stood back as the huge black wolf pushed past him. He shut the flap back and held his hands nervously.

The wolf rolled me off him gently and I fell on the fur blankets. I had lost my fur blanket from before and quickly pulled a new one over my body. I could still hear Brett outside, but so far he hadn't made it in here.

The black wolf moved over to where he stood in the shadows, his black coat blending in. I turned my eyes to the doctor who was holding a pair of black sweats. He looked at me before speaking.
