I don't want to be rude to the realtor, but I really don't like this house, it's just not cozy enough. I want something smaller, we're not going to need this much space.

Dan seems to notice that I'm not paying much attention, and clears his throat, "I'm sorry, we just aren't looking for a place this big." He says, grabbing my hand.

She turns to us, surprised at first, but then she nods, "I suppose that's understandable, bigger isn't always better for some people. If you change your mind, please make sure to give us a call. Here's my card."

I grab it and give a small smile, "Thank you." I turn and head for the door, Dan's hand resting on the small of my back.

I get into the driver's seat of the car and sigh heavily, "I'm sorry, I know I'm making this difficult."

He shakes his head, "You don't have to apologize."

I shrug, "It seems like we've looked everywhere."

"I know. We'll find something eventually."

I just nod, and start the long drive back to Bakersfield.

My parents were kind enough to let Dan and I stay with them while we were in America. Luckily they lived only about 2 and a half hours outside of Los Angeles, where Dan and I are going to live. Years ago, when I had moved to LA for my acting career, they had moved with me, but kept their distance.

They had never met Dan up until we started house hunting, but they love him and treat him like my husband. It's quite nice, actually.

I wonder how they're going to react when I tell them I'm pregnant. I'm going to tell them tomorrow morning before Dan and I leave to check out two more houses, I hope they don't freak out because we didn't 'wait until marriage.'

Dan and I decide to grab some dinner and take a short walk before going back home.

We walk through the door and immediately my mother, who is still awake, is asking me how things went.

"Any luck? Did you find the perfect home?" She asks with a smile on her face.

"Mom, what are you doing awake? It's almost 11 o'clock."

She shrugs, "I just wanted to know how it went before I went to sleep."

I shake my head, "It was too big."

"Oh, darlings." She frowns, "You'll find a place in no time."

"That's what I told her." Dan says, "We have two to look at tomorrow. Hopefully one of them will work."

Mom nods, "I made a blueberry pie, grab a piece before you head to bed, okay?" She gives both Dan and I a hug before she heads up the stairs.

"Your mum is so nice," he shakes his head.

"So is yours," I respond.

I've met Dan's parents twice already. One was just because he wanted me to meet them, the other time was during Christmas, when he begged me to go with him to meet the rest of his family.

After Dan and I eat a piece of mom's homemade blueberry pie, we head up to my old bedroom which has been untouched since I moved out.

"I can't get over all of these photos of you and Phil," he says, standing at my vanity and glancing at my favorite pictures from high school.

I quickly grab a sweater from my closet, which just so happens to be an AmazingPhil sweater, "Yeah, I took a shit ton of pictures back then."
