Chapter Twenty-Two

Thursday morning, Devon and I were walking to school together. We're taking a shortcut to school, and I was telling him about my dream I have every night.

" The weird thing is that Josh looked like a member of the Skulls."I explained.

Devon stopped walking and thought for a minute.

" What's wrong?" I asked confused.

" Stay away from Josh. I think he's connected to the Skulls." Devon warned me.

" But-" I argued.

Devon interrupted me," Please don't argue Holly." 

We walked in silence on the way to school.

This is awkward. I thought looking at the ground as I walked.

When we got closer to the school, I saw Josh waiting at the front steps of the school.

" Just ignore him. Don't even look at him." Devon growled .

I sighed," Fine."

" Hey Holly!" Josh yelled waving his arm as we walked closer to him.

I tried hard not to look at him or talk to him as we walk past him.

When we finally got inside of the school, I sighed in frustration.

" Holly, wait up," I heard Josh yell as he ran towards up.

" I'm getting sick of that guy."  Devon growled as he grabbed my hand, and started running, dragging me along.

We ran all around the school, trying to get away from Josh.

" We're going to have to hide in the janitor's closet." Devon looked behind him to see how far Josh ran.

" I can't run anymore." I complained as I slow down.

Devon tugged my hand and tried to put me on his back.

When I had one hand wrapped around Devon's neck, I felt someone grab my hand, tugging me away from Devon.

I saw Josh in front me me, holding my hand.

" Get away from Holly," Devon yelled just as the bell rang for class.

Suddenly, Devon and Josh attracted a crowd,

" Fight, Fight," The crowed yelled over and over again.

" Get away from Holly." Devon repeated, his voice getting deeper.

Josh let go of my hand and stood in front of Devon.

" You can't make me, it's a free country," Josh yelled over the crowd.

Devon growled, he's getting really mad.

Devon ran up to Josh and punched him in the stomach.

Josh groaned and kicked Devon in the face.

" Stop," I yelled.

Suddenly, my friends grabbed my arms and tried to pull me away from the crowd.

" What are you doing?" I screamed trying to break free.

My friend dragged me away from the crowd, as they dragged me, I saw the principle and the school police trying to break up the fight.

" Devon," I screamed.

All day, Devon and Josh didn't come to class.

" Hey Holly, did you hear what happened to Devon and Josh after they got into that fight?" A girl in my class named Katelyn asked me at lunch.

" What happened?" I asked worried.

" I heard that Devon got suspended for two weeks." Katelyn explained.

My eyes grew wide," Why?" 

" Since Devon punched Josh first, The principle thought he started it first don't tell anyone i told you this." Katelyn whispered.

I nodded," Okay, thanks for telling me." 

After she left, I groaned in frustration.

" Are you okay, Holly?" Maegan asked me worried.

 " Why did this have to happen to me?" I groaned.

" It's only for two weeks." Jackie laughed nervously.

When I got home from school, I immediately ran up to my room and started calling Devon.

" Hey Holly." Devon said right after he picked up the phone.

" What were you thinking?" I screamed over the phone.

" I'm sorry okay. I just couldn't help it." Devon said honestly.

" So you had to punch him?" I screamed.

 Devon sighed," I'm sorry."

" You got suspended for two weeks," I yelled in frustration.

" When did you hear about that?" Devon asked shocked.

" So you were going to keep it a secret?" I shouted getting angrier by the minute.

" Who told you?" Devon asked still in shock.

" Katelyn in our class." I sighed..

" That tattle-tale." Devon growled.

 I sighed," Devon, you have to stop being jealous."

" I'm not jelious." Devon argued.

" Whatever you say." I said finally laughing.
