Chapter Twelve

" What's going on?" I asked a little scared.

" Who is this Smith guy you were talking about?" Joe growled.

" It's our science teacher." Devon said still staring at the note." 

" We have to know what secret he's talking about." Melody explained.

" Devon, tomorrow Melody and I will go to school with you." Joe said still angry.

Devon nodded. Suddenly Joe and Devon started talking about their plan.

" Um, sorry to interrupt , but shouldn't we take Holly home first?" Melody asked pointing at me.

" Right. Devon, drive her home will ya?" Joe suggested.

" B-But, I don't know where she lives." Devon stuttered.

" Stop making excuses. Holly will show the way." Joe said laughing as he slapped Devon's back.

" Turn right." I instructed as Devon drove the car.

Awkward. I thought as I stared out the window.

" Um sorry I wasn't at school today." Devon finally said.

" It's okay." I said nervously. Oh and by the way, I'm totally in love with Devon. Sorry I didn't mention it earlier.

After a little while, Devon stopped in front of my house.

" Thanks for driving me home." I whispered as I got out of the car.

That night, I lay  in bed unable to sleep. When I finally fell asleep , I woke up suddenly because heard a rustling sound. I opened my eyes and I saw Devon standing in my room.

" Devon?" I asked still half asleep. " What are you doing here?" 

Devon smiled, " I always watch you sleep." 

" What do you mean?" I asked confused as I sat up.

Before I knew it, Devon was on my bed laying beside me.

" What are-" I started to say , but Devon leaned forward and kiss me before I can finish my sentence.

" Goodnight Holly." Devon whispered.

" What?" I asked confused.

" I love you." Devon whispered before I fell asleep.
