Chapter Nineteen

" What's for breakfast today?" Joe yelled as he sat down beside me at the dinner table.

" Cook your own." Devon growled.

" You know I'm bad at cooking." Joe argued.

As they argued, Melody walked over to Devon.

" Hey Devon, can you fix me a cup of coffee?" Melody asked handing a cup to Devon.

" Sure." Devon said ignoring Joe.

" Wha-?" Joe yelled.

When Devon gave back the cup to Melody, she sat down on the couch, and turns on the T.V.

" I've heard The Skulls are back." Melody said suddenly.

Devon and Joe stopped arguing and ran over to Melody.

"Who are The Skulls?" I asked confused as I sat down beside Melody.

 " The Skulls are a group of powerful vampires.They don't drink animal blood, like us. They can paralyze you with one look. And they can easily kill humans and drink their blood." Melody explained.

" But you guys drink human blood too right?" I asked as a shiver went though my body.

Devon laughed," We don't hunt humans and drink their blood every night."

"If we do, we would've done it to you a long time ago." Joe said grinning.

" Stop scaring her, Joe." Devon snapped.

" Well anyways, The Skulls had been alive since the Civil War. Our ancestors, killed some of them but the others went into hiding." Joe continued.

" If you ever see someone with a skull tattoo on their face or their vampires, don't stop and chat.They might be some people from The Skulls. 

" We use to have a little sister named, Katelyn, but she got killed by The Skulls." Melody said her voice shaking.

" That's sad." I said.

Suddenly my phone rang,and it was my mom.

"Hey mom." I said smiling.

" Hey honey, I"m just calling to let you know that dad and I are coming back tomorrow." My mom said excitedly.

" Okay." I said my smile disappeared.

" So pack up your stuff tonight and maybe we'll get home after you get home from school." My mom said joyfully.

" Alright, see you tomorrow."I said as I hung up.

" Is it your last day here?" Devon asked frowning.

I nodded, unhappily.

" Well, lets go somewhere fun!" Joe yelled excitedly.

" What's wrong with him today?" I whispered to Devon.

" I don't really know." Devon said laughing.

" I want to take Holly shopping!" Melody yelled excited.

I nodded," Sounds like fun."

A couple of minutes later, we were at the mall.

" Lets go to Hot Topic." I said dragging Melody along.

At the end of the day, Devon and Joe were carrying all the shopping bags.

" What's in this bag?" Joe growled.

" Girls sure can waste money." Devon said rolling his eyes.

Melody and I glared at him.

That night, I had a nightmare about The Skulls. When I opened my eyes, it was Monday morning.

" Good morning, Holly." Melody greeted me.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes.

" Are you going to go to school today?" She ask me.

I nodded as I went up to Melody's room to get ready. I brushed my teeth and then I got dressed. I put on a new shirt from Hot Topic .( I bought it with Melody yesterday.) The shirt was black and had a skeleton on it, and I threw on two black bracelets on each hand,  and a pair of black flip-flops. I ran downstairs, and Devon eating breakfast.

" Hey, Holly." Devon mumbled, his mouth full of bacon.

"Gotta go, or I'll be late for school." I yelled before running out the door.

" Wait for me, Holly! Devon yelled as he took a piece of toast off of Melody's plate.

There was an awkward silence as Devon drove me to school.

" So does your friends know about you dating the popular Devon Hollister?" Devon asked laughing.

I rolled my eyes," Sure, they freaked out if they knew I was dating their Prince." 

At lunch, Devon sat with me and my friends.

" He's so dreamy."Jackie said sighing.

" When are you going to tell them?" Devon whispered to me.

" Right now, I guess." I said nervously.

It took a while to make them snap out of their Wonderland.

" I'm dating Devon." I finally said.

 "What?" My friends yelled as all the people in the cafeteria looked at us.

My friends dragged me outside and looked at me angrily.

" How's it going?" I asked nervously.

" Holly! Why are you dating him? You know all of us liked him!" Mikayla yelled at me.

"But now I liked him." I whimpered.

Maegan sighed," Looks like he's taken now."

Jackie sighed," Now we need to find a hotter guy."

After school, when I got home, I saw my mom and dad sitting at the dinner table waiting for me.

 " Welcome home, mom and dad." I said smiling.

That night, I heard someone outside my window. I looked outside and I saw a boy staring at me behind a tree. He ran away before I can get a closer look at  him.

But I knew I saw a skull mark on his face.
