THE REST OF THE DAY consisted of eye rolls, headaches, and endless blabbering from the teachers. Once the bell finally rang, I ran out of school and waited for Two-bit.

15 minutes passed and he hasn't come out yet, and I started to get worried. I looked over the parking lot to find his car and it wasn't there. I figured he left without me, so I started walking home. This wasn't the first time for him to ditch me, he probably drove to the Dingo for lunch and skipped school for the rest of the day.

The walk home was quite relaxing. It was October so the warm weather was long gone and the chilly season started. The dead leaves let out a crunching sound as my worn out sneakers came in contact with them.

The whole time I was thinking about Zachary and I's conversation. He really was different from the other Socs. Will we really stay friends after the assignment, or was he just kidding about this whole thing?

I was deep in thought until I bumped into someone. I looked up from the ground to see it was Johnny.

"Oh, hey Johnny. Sorry about that, I wasn't looking where I was going." I let out a chuckle.

"Nah it's fine. What were you thinking about anyway?" We started walking together. The sun was radiating against Johnny's tan face, defining his face structure even more. He was mighty handsome, at least I think so. Johnny doesn't see it though, he's very insecure about himself.

I shrugged. "Nothing really, just Zachary Ross."

He stopped walking and faced me. "Zachary Ross?"

"Yeah, he's my partner in biology. He asked me if we could be friends. Why?"

Johnny shook his head. "Nina, he's bad news. I know things about him that I wish I didn't."

"I'm sure he's fine, Johnny. Just because he's a Soc doesn't mean he's an asshole. We were talking today and he seemed to be a very polite boy." We continued walking and the wind started blowing. I buried myself in my jacket to keep warm.

"No, Nina you don't get it. He does some pretty bad stuff and you wouldn't want to mess with him." His gaze was still fixed on me. "He may seem nice right now, but you'll see what I mean soon."

I scoffed. "I think you're just overreacting, Johnny. I mean, have you had an actual conversation with him?" He sighed, and shook his head. "Yeah, I thought so."
